Plan your shore excursions ahead of time. Plan to wait in long lines during disembarcation so schedule you flights and airport transfers accordingly.

Alot of the excursions can be purchased at the ports for much cheaper than booking through Royal. We booked through the ship at Cozumel and had a great experience, but found out that we could've done the same thing for much cheaper. Booking through the cruise ship offers some certainty, though.

We did not use any of the excursions offered by the ship, instead we adventured and met great people along the way.

The cruise shopping guide will encourage you to shop and come to their shopping events on board - I have never found any great deals at any of the ports. I only bought a few souvenir gifts at the last port for my grandkids. I would not waste my vacation time shopping. Go to the beaches!

Get out and wander around the ship during non-peak times so you can really see and enjoy the beauty of the ship. Be prepared for lots of close body contact in the main dining rooms, especially at breakfast. Attend the on-board entertainment shows. You will be impressed!

Try the Windjammer for dinner if you don't want to spend 2 hours for dinner in the MDR you can get the same food and more selections. The best ice tea is in the coffee shop. There is an ice machine and tea and water dispenser in the back ( tea in the dining rooms is very dark. )

Nothing special. Check compass for all on board activities and plan your next day in advance to take advantage. Plan off shore excursions according to your likings.

We had all our excursions planned before we went that way we didn't have to spend time where do you want to go where you want to go or what do you want to see.

I feel Royal Caribbean should become more kid friendly! The curfew has to go! The kids in our group were very dissatisfied with the way kids are treated. They pay the same price and are treated 2nd rate!

The Galveston cruise terminal was worst part of the trip. Having to offload passengers, then drive to remote lot, then catch shuttle back.....by then I was melted! That humidity is killer! Next time we will try to arrange taxi or limo for curbside drop.

Definitely plan ahead for the excursions so you know what you're doing. I also recommend the self-carry off the ship if you can as it gets you off a lot faster the last day. My Time Dining is also a great way to schedule your dinners and keep the same table/staff all week.

Make sure you estimate your beverage consumption before purchasing one of the drink packages. Even the premium wine and beer doesn't include all wines, but only ones below 12.50. Most wine cost around 6-8 and beer about the same. The premium didn't include all champagne or even sparkling water.
