This was our 1st RCCL... by gwyatt

Sail date: /
Ship: Liberty of the Seas

This was our 1st RCCL cruise and I tried to book a nicer, older ship to make a fair comparison. Seems to us that is was just a better overall experience. Less entertainment, but what was there, was good. Still think NCL has best entertainment. The food was 100% better on RCCL. The buffet and main dining room are far superior. The specialty restaurant experience... so so. Chops was the best, but nothing really great. Enjoyed the layout of the ship and the ease of moving about. The casino seems very cramped for a ship of this size. Seemed like several people use it as their smoking room rather than gambling. Really enjoyed the Windjammer buffet in the mornings, great food, great staff. We absolutely look forward to our next journey with RCCL and thanks to the crew and staff on the LOTS!

The best cruise ever! by ceirsik

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This is our first cruise. Everything went very well. The food, the people the ship, was just awesome. The excursions are easy to find and do. We had no problems with locals. We have already booked a new cruise for next year.

Ah yes... Liberty of the... by JackhammerTX

Sail date: /
Ship: Liberty of the Seas

Ah yes... Liberty of the Seas... Our favorite. She's an awesome ship, very well layed out and easy to find everything on board. Lots of shows, restaurants and stores. Lots to see and do. Her Capt and crew are just as awesome. The crew goes out of their way to insure you have a great time and that all your needs are met. Our stateroom attendant, Richard, from The Philippines, is the most awesome person I've ever met. His special personal touches, turned our stateroom into home. He treated us like his family, with the utmost respect for privacy and needs. He always asked how our day was going, did we have a good day, did we need anything and so on. Yes I know most of what I said is his job to do that... but it how it did that, that made such a HUGE difference. Richard, single handedly made the difference between a good cruise and and a fantastic, awesome cruise. Seeing Richard's smiling face each day hearing him calling us by name, Mr. John and Ms. Gloria, was very respectful, but such a nice touch. I wish there was a way to find out what ship he's on when we book our next cruise, because I would book that cruise that Richard is on, his deck, starboard or port, and rooms in his care, because we consider Richard family. He's that freakin awesome!! I know I'm rambling... But when you receive service that's WAY above the norm, you have to tell people!! So I am. I just wish I had ask him for his personal email to stay in touch with him and his family. Who knows... Maybe a trip to the Philippines when Richard is off to visit? Anyway... Liberty of the Seas is the best ship sailing and she's our favorite. Try her on for size. I'm sure you love her as well.

We enjoyed our cruise on the Liberty. Staff, food and ports met all expectations. by AHolm

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was our fourth time visiting the western Caribbean on an RCCL cruise. The ship was clean and staff was very friendly. The weather did not cooperate for much of the week, but port and ship options were just fine. We had a great time and would cruise the Liberty again

Exceeded our expectations by Djaesmom

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We have two suggestions. 1- All of the activities at the pool (belly flop, etc) should be able to be viewed on the big screen during the activity for those of us who can't see past the crowd. 2-You should have internet access available to those of us who don't buy VOOM to be able to research Royal Caribbean ships, itineraries, ports, etc. We really wanted to book our next cruise but we had no way to look up the different ships, ports, itineraries, etc. The NEXT CRUISE staff has some info, but they really weren't able to answer many of our questions without looking up answers, which may or may not have been spot on (like excursions at different ports) The internet cafe should have some computers hooked up to RCI info so that we can better prepare for our next cruise.

The LOTS is a beautiful... by gverdi

Sail date: /
Ship: Liberty of the Seas

The LOTS is a beautiful ship and appears to be well maintained in general. This being our 6th cruise with RCCL and the fact that we returning platinum members, we were very disappointed with the staff and some of the other amenities. I’ll start with our cabin (#1856 on deck 12) - clean, bright, with full floor to ceiling windows it was amazing! Our cabin steward, Andy, was also fantastic and always busy working and doing a great job! The main dining room (3rd level Botticelli) we had a nice table at the window. It was always overly warm which on formal nights was uncomfortable! Dining staff were friendly but not very attentive. They were slow and very rarely asked how the food tasted. The food did not even compare to what we have had on other Royal ships! No presentation on the plates and same old broccoli and carrots on the side. Menus did not change much night after night either. They did not offer coffee/tea with dessert or after dinner cordials. I feel that now that a majority of cruisers purchase the drink packages the offerings have become less available. Bar service (when you went to the bar) was good in general although there were a few drinks we had that were horrible. Roberta at the Bolero bar was outstanding! Also Jeffrey at the Solarium bar was great! The Windjammer buffet was not impressive at all! A lot of the same food day after day. Food was not replenished quickly. Silverware was always empty. The staff made themselves scarce. Only once all week were we asked if we would like something to drink with our meal. We had to go get our own juice/iced tea/coffee/etc. The entertainment was good overall. There were 2 comedians that were excellent! The Saturday Night Fever show was one of the best and most creative I have ever seen on a cruise ship! The ship needs to have a better spot (like a lounge) available for Karaoke. The area used was way too small for the amount of people and very noisy. We had an issue with a RC sanctioned excursion and theft on one of the islands and we got the run around with guest services over and over telling us they were going to “take care of it” and then not doing it, causing us to lose valuable vacation time over and over again! Overall, I did not think the staff on this ship were well managed in comparison to other RC ships we have sailed on. Needless to say, we will not be going back on the Liberty anytime soon! Hopefully this is not the direction Royal Caribbean is going in!

Had a great time on... by JoBOP

Sail date: /
Ship: Liberty of the Seas

Had a great time on the Liberty. She was fully booked and there were times that this showed, such as the buffet and waiting for tenders to port but it didn’t spoil things. So much to do and there were quieter areas to hang out as well. The crew are great and the shows amazing. Don’t expect a premium luxury offering and you will not be disappointed.

My first cruise! It... by dcomstock1264

Sail date: /
Ship: Liberty of the Seas

My first cruise! It was amazing! A little cold leaving Galveston. The next day was warmer but only had maybe an hour of sun; hung out by the pool and took a shot at the FlowRider. After that, until we returned to Galveston, it was nothing but sunny skies and warm weather! The dinner in the MDR was awesome every night. On lobster night I ordered three tails and ended up eating 5! Robin and Ricardo were awesome and very attentive. Even remembered everything we drank and liked. The activities on the ship were plentiful, it was hard to get bored. Karaoke and the game shows were a lot of fun. All in all it was a great trip!! Even though I didn’t win the belly flop contest I still had a blast!

To all cruisers leaving on... by ImBeachBound

Sail date: /
Ship: Liberty of the Seas

To all cruisers leaving on March 31 on Liberty of the Sea we are going to have a great cruise. This itinerary of ports is the best. I have taken seven cruises now and chose this one for a second time. Liberty of the sea is one of the best ships to cruise on. Everyone is so professional and helpful. The ship is always very clean and there’s always something fun to do

Mind blown first time cruiser by Joules

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was great first time cruise on a beautiful ship. We cruised as a group of 16 (4 families of 4). The teens and adults always had something fun to do. I was surprised there wasn’t more down time. We wanted to experience everything the ship had to offer, even the silly shopping presentations.

There were a group of... by KendraMorris

Sail date: /
Ship: Liberty of the Seas

There were a group of 7 of us, this was all of our first cruise. We had a good time but found ourselves ready to go by the last day. There were plenty of activities for both adults and children and the ship itself was beautiful. The few complaints that we had 1. Housekeeping on at least my side of the deck (3244) was a literal nightmare. While the beds were made nothing else was cleaned, dirty dishes and cups were left and we had to by day 4 corner him for more towels despite our repeated requests. 2. The food in the Windjammer, I get it, it’s a buffet but can we switch it up some kind of way. It was literally 7 days of mostly the same breakfast and lunch (we ate there one night for dinner and guess what, same as lunch). The bacon (I realize they’re making 200 lbs a day and that it’s difficult to do) but was greasy and mostly raw. 3. Most and I say most not all of the employees are incredibly rude. Perhaps it’s a language or cultural barrier but come on RC can we step up our training on customer service. Now, the good! 1. The Squeeze Bar. Edgar the bartender was incredible, so much so that we’ve decided that the bar should be renamed Edgar’s Bar. He was attentive, remembered names, kind, quick, and made an amazing drink (seriously, none of us had a bad one). Why this guy isn’t a lead I’ll never understand. Wainwright, super friendly especially given some of the rude individuals they deal with but Edgar is definitely where it’s at. 2. The Michelangelo Dining Room and waiter Gene (Mean Gene) and his assistant Joenel were the best!! If you can request absolutely do so. Aside from the food here being amazing the service was top notch. These two gentlemen were accommodating to all of our request no matter how ridiculous they might be. Mean Gene learned quickly that I’m a dessert girl (gotta keep thunder and lightning happy) and made sure that along with my one ordered that he brought out a second new one to try and take home cookies for the kids. Joenel knee our drink orders after day one and was on it when we walked in and he’s super kind. These folks are why I say most are rude not all, they 100% made our trip as pleasurable as it was. I’d book again just to follow these guys around. That being said, after hearing other passengers talk about other cruise lines and their activities I’m not sure I’d book on RC for my next cruise but that’ll be a trial and error thing moving forward. Overall we enjoyed our trip.

Everything was great EXCEPT your drink package for DIAMOND MEMBERS. by deshipmate

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Was very displeased with your "new" 3-FREE drink program for DIAMOND CLUB MEMBERS. Your restrictions on the TYPE OF DRINK and the TIME SCHEDULE (4:30-8:00). We could not participate in events and enjoy our drinks when we wanted them. Poor decision on ROYAL CARIBBEAN to change these two areas.
