Review summary

This should be a first time cruise experience if you don’t want to spend a lot of money. I tried newer ships and higher class cruise lines. Therefore, never again Royal Caribbean, unless it is a brand new ship and more than 7 nights. Everyone has an opinion, so after 2 cruises on Oceania, 1 on Holland America, and 1 on Celebrity, this is my opinion.

Embarkation

Slow, too many lines, too much confusion. A real mess.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food was okay. Not great, not terrible. Depends on what you are comparing your food to. Drinks were good if bartenders weren’t too busy. Usually just wait for a long time and walked away.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Fitness center was good if you have lots of flexibility. Early in the day was crowded. Just got down to lunch or fitness center. Make your choice.

Entertainment

2 out of 5
Reduced my time in the shows because they were too crowded. Forget finding a seat if you go when a show starts.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
My room Attendant was great. I tipped him when I got on board and he kept an extra towel in my bathroom each day. The dining room wait staff was great. Very efficient when our table all showed up each night at our 8 pm scheduled time.

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
Old out dated ship in need of lots of cleaning up for me. I have only been on much newer ships before this time. Never again will I book a cruise ship over 5 years of age.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
I picked this cabin because the 12th floor balcony cabins were added recently. My cabin #1886. Don’t have any idea what was there before. However, after comparing it to my friends balcony cabin on 8th floor, mine was fantastic. I had more storage, cleaner carpet, better bathroom facilities and larger couch.

Ship tip

Go if you want to experience cheap. Try Oceania Riviera and experience luxury.

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

2 out of 5
Poor restaurant choices.

Cozumel, Mexico

2 out of 5
Dirty and not impressed.

George Town, Grand Cayman

3 out of 5
Bad weather day.

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
The ship got in at low tide which hampered getting the bags off the ship. Total confusion in the waiting areas before getting off to collect my bag. Terrible

I'm not sure if you made a typo or what. There is no room 1668 on deck 12 or any other deck on Liberty of the Seas for that matter. It would be nice and helpful to read your review with the correct information. Hope you correct these errors. Thanks

Sorry to hear that the Liberty wasn't up to your standards....we recently sailed her Thanksgiving week and found her to be fantastic. We were on the Oasis the year prior and were worried we might be "let down", however after discussing it with our family that includes 2 teenage boys, we all agreed we liked the Liberty better. That being said, we've already booked her again for this Thanksgiving. I can also say, out of our 22 cruises, I thought this last cruise on the Liberty was in my personal top 2 or 3....

Did you book a panoramic ocean view? We have one booked for next year on Liberty. Interested in knowing your thoughts
