If you are traveling with children of any age then The Liberty of the Seas is a great ship as it is busy with many things to do. If you are traveling without children then we like the Jewel of the Seas better as it is a bit quieter with many things to do. We also prefer cruises with less cruising days.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
We walked right on at 2:30 pm. It was so easy.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
We used the Rembrandt dining room and the Windjammer buffet which were excellent. For quick snacks or meals we used Sorrento's pizza and café promenade. Everything was great.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
We loved the fitness center and the walking track. We used them every day.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
We went to most shows and found them to be entertaining and worth the time to watch.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Service and staff were excellent.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
We prefer the smaller ships. This ship seemed busier than when we were on The Jewel.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
The window on the promenade was not very useful because we did not like the privacy lost when the drapes were open . The privacy shade did not close very well and was not enough coverage. We could see into rooms staright across from us. There were two small love seats in the room which was nice.
Ship tip
This ship offers more activities for children than The Jewel.
We did the excursion through Royal Caribbean called Roatan Island Tour and Beach. We toured the island while hearing information about the island and then visited the Iguana farm and went to a private home to see a hilltop view and then headed to a beach resort called Sol Mar. It was a calm little bay which was nice for paddle boarding. At this beach you paid for what you used, ate, or drank. It was a nice excursion. Roatan was peaceful with no one bothering us for anything.
This was our favorite port. We went on the Royal Caribbean excursion Xunantunich and Marimba lunch which we loved. We love history and culture verses a beach day. This was a wonderful port and excursion for us. We had a great tender experience. Because we did the excursion through the ship, the tender got us boarded right away as this is an all day excursion. Everything was very efficient.
This was our least favorite port. We went on the Royal Caribbean excursuion Panoramic tour. We were hoping for more sightseeing but were routed through good quality shops instead. The first one was The Spice Market and the second one was a tequila store. The spices and tequila were of good quality but we would rather sight see than shop. We were then dropped off in the shopping area. We are not beach people but I think that that would be the thing to do on this island. I think recommendations of Mr Sanchos, Paradise beach, Bar hop, or something similar would be the way to go on this island. If you are a shopper, then this is the tour for you.
