For example: Book a day at Palm Court Plantation & restaurant for $11 and swim there all day. There is a nice restaurant & it overlooks the water (you can see the cruise ship from there). I would definitely hang out there on my next visit to St. Kitts. Another cruiser said food was good. A paradise to relax.
This ship is beautiful the crew all were so polite and friendly there is always food, which was delicious no matter where you ate, great entertainment, great activities, overall great service. I had an awesome time.
As mentioned we cancelled our excursions because my wife was not feeling well. As a result I leaned that there is no need to leave the ship. So my tip is, do not feel you need to take excursions to have a great time on this cruise. Our most enjoyable days were the excursion days, very quiet on deck.
The only downside of the cruise was the stop in Labadee, Haiti. While the island is lovely, and we had fun jet skiing, I wanted to go to the main island, which is not an option.
If you want to go off the beaten path in Jamaica, expect to pay New York City taxi prices... $170 for 5 hours.
For those of you that like to run or walk on the beautiful track around the top floor, best to use it before 9 a.m or up to about 2 p.m. on port days. Rest of time congested with people sitting in recliners that spill out into the track and people 2 or 3 wide slowly walking and talking on the track.
Even we are diamond plus and cruised on most of the European ships more than one,I will not cruise again unless the Company will assure me that families with babies and toddlers would be seated in a specific part of the Windjammer, should not be a problem, and that the staff will have some authority in the subject.
Don't need to book a tour in San Juan just go to the "White" tram/trolley stop outside the pier for a free ride to Old San Juan and tour the forts, that will take all day, they are massive and for 5 bucks well worth it. US cell phone work and it's usually included in you plan.
