Review summary

We are dedicated to rccl especially being an adult population This cruise was a nightmare due to the screaming babies in the Windjammer which made meals impossible. Staff should have authority to control the situation by having these families assigned to a particular section, there many to choose from

Embarkation

1 out of 5
Very good,on wheel chair ,was taken to the ship whiteout checking in line, room card delivered to room

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Windjammer food excellent, restaurant deck 5, terrible food, tasteless, not adequate menu to our taste

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Should have had movies in the teacher daily more than once instead near pool in an usual high weather temperature

Entertainment

2 out of 5
So and so,had seen on many rccl ships much better

Children's Programs

Silly question,

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
In general very good, except that Windjammer personnel did not have the authority to calm down the screaming babies who made eating impossible

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Public spaces excellently clean, personal cabin not so much

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Two cabins 6618 and 6616 balcony. Nice space,cabins look " tired"need a better cleaning

Ship tip

Even we are diamond plus and cruised on most of the European ships more than one,I will not cruise again unless the Company will assure me that families with babies and toddlers would be seated in a specific part of the Windjammer, should not be a problem, and that the staff will have some authority in the subject.

As a parent of a 6 and 7 year old I would be livid and embarrassed if my kids behaved like that in public. Kids will be kids and yes they run around and are noisy but the minute it looks like they are annoying someone I talk to them and if they don’t stop I remove them. sometimes it’s hard as they’re so excited but it really is down to the parenting. Maybe I’m too full on with the “don’t touch that, stop shouting etc etc” but I just remember how much I hate it when other people’s kids do it. The problem we had last time we cruised Indy was not the kids, it was the teenagers that took over the ship ! Under age drinking resulted in sick on the decks at night, groups of them in stair wells, fighting, blood on the decks at night, couldn’t get into the hot tubs as they took over everything. Swearing, drinking, fighting, talking about Sex in front of little kids etc. 12 year olds caked in make up wearing next to nothing etc etc. Felt intimidated to walk round at night. Never felt like that before on a cruise.

I've never heard of rccl being exclusively adult. They cater to whole families. Especially if school is not in session. Do your research next time. Virgin voyages will be adults only. Try them.

We can certainly agree. Large extended British families aboard and many let their small children run around and not watch them. We often went to the Star Lounge and they let their 2 to 10 year olds run around in front of the stage area during contests and events. They climbed all over chairs and booths. The parents never watched them at all. They often caused great distractions to participants and guests. Not the staff's fault, but the parents.

Perhaps an adult only cruise would be a better option for you!!
