Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Main Dining Room - waiters attentive and very friendly and very good at remembering your likes and dislikes. Tables very close together. Food excellent although by the 2nd week the choice of food was repetitious. The Windjammer - didn't use very often as it could be quite stressful getting a table. Speciality Restaurants - didn't use All drinks served were top brands.

Onboard Activities

Plenty available for all ages

3 out of 5
One top class act., one good West End style show and the rest pretty average

Children's Programs

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Staff friendly and efficient

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
In general very good. Playmakers Sports Bar is far too large and The Schooner Bar is far too small. Everywhere clean and tidy.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin comfortable and very clean. As it was an inside cabin it was very compact. Not much floor space but plenty of storage space.

Ship tip

We would like to stress we did have a lovely holiday but if when people go on holiday and seek out the nearest British pub and sports bar then this is the ship for them. This ship isn't for us and we wouldn't choose this one again but would do R. C. again.

Ports of call

Southampton (London), England

Stayed overnight in a hotel close to the port. What we did see everything was adequate.

Vigo, Spain

Nice port with cafes and shops. Walked up the very steep hill to El Castro Fortress. Tough climb but worth it for the view

Lisbon, Portugal

Superb. Would recommend The Hippo Trip Tour. Very knowledgeable tour guide and plenty of opportunities for great photos. Included in the trip was a Belem Pastry. Very tasty.

Cadiz (Seville), Spain

5 out of 5
Walkable from the port. Plenty of sightseeing opportunities. A great find was the Roman Amphitheatre.

Lanzarote, Canary Islands

5 out of 5
Walkable into Arrecife Town. Beautiful Marina with shops and cafes. We took the hop on hop off sightseeing train which let us get around and see things which were slightly further away

Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, Canary Islands

3 out of 5
We found Las Palmas to be quite sad and dirty. There was a Sunday Market there with a good few stalls.

Tenerife, Canary Islands

Lovely walk from the port. Santa Cruz was beautiful with plenty of shops and cafe. The seafront is currently ungergoing a major refurbishment and will only add to the beauty of Santa Cruz.

Santa Cruz De La Palma, Canary Islands

5 out of 5
A beautiful place and would certainly go back to explore more.

Funchal, Madeira

Excellent. We did the hop on hop off sightseeing bus. As it was a late arrival in port and early departure we didn't have time to do the cable car and toboggan which was unfortunate. Would definitely go back to explore more.

La Coruna, Spain

5 out of 5
Excellent. Walked around the beautiful Old Town which is a must. We also visited the old Fort at the port which is another must see. Beautiful square with cafes to sit and watch the world go by.
