Awesome 30th Anniversary Cruise on Grandeur of the Seas! by Hoguezoo

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

It had been 13 years since our last cruise and we decided that Royal Caribbean was the best place to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. The Grandeur more than met our expectations. The ship was absolutely beautiful and the crew was superb. They surprised us with a nice card and a tray with wine and cheeses on our anniversary! We had a great time at the Love and Marriage Game show and attended a show every night. The excursions in Bermuda were lots of fun. The island is gorgeous and the beaches are amazing. There was plenty of opportunity on the ship to stay busy or do nothing but relax....we did plenty of both. Thank you Royal Caribbean! We will be back again soon!!

Great Cruise, excellent cuisine by twrcruiser

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

Exceptional staff and cuisine that was much better than I expected. Casino slots are still too tight. I guess that will never change. Too many crew members approached me about the specialty restaurants on board the ship. It reminded me of high pressure condo time share pitches. It was a definite negative. Overall, Royal Caribbean offered an excellent cruising experience. I will definitely consider sailing with them again.

PAMPER TIME! by mamabear

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

Loved this cruise.....all port tours were great. Have always felt pampered on Royal Caribbean but the staff on this cruise outdid themselves. The entertainment was very good. Some nights much better than others. Food was outstanding as expected.

Cruise to Bermuda from 8/30/13-9/5/13 by DeniseDetweiler

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

I found the food to be delicious and the service to be SUPERB. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The ship was very nice but seemed a bit crowded. The Pallidum theatres seats were terribly uncomfortable as I felt like I was sitting back too far and wanted to bring the back up. I would have liked to see more drink and icecream stations and more "public" bathrooms as they did not have them on each deck near the elevators. Cabin bathrooms were a bit on the small side but overall cabin was nice. The activities were a lot of fun although I found some of the relays of the "Battle of the Sexes" to be a bit crude (both the keychain in butt to drop in cup and the pen hanging from string in back to be placed in coke bottle gave the appearance of a person squatting to complete bathroom activities). Cruising to Bermuda should be a 7 day cruise as only 1 full day is time allotted for 6 days.

Our First Cruise by NaiomiandSteve

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

Since this was our first cruise we didn't know exactly what to expect, but overall the family had a really wonderful experience. The food on board was so plentiful, tasty and diverse that we never had a desire to try any of the specialty restaurants. There were plenty of activities to keep all of us busy, and we would highly recommend the live evening shows in the Palladium (Ivan Pecel the comedian juggler was one of our favorites!). The only small complaint we have is that the room (especially the bathroom) was too small which made us want to leave the room as soon as possible every day; but our porter made up for the tiny accommodations by being so kind and diligent with his duties. We would definitely cruise with Royal again in the future and have already recommended it to our friends and family. Thank you for a very memorable experience; one that we hope to repeat again very soon!

Shaky Beginning, Perfect Ending by Christina123

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

This was my first time on a cruise and I'm happy I chose Royal Caribbean. Although, I wouldn't suggest going to Bermuda for your first cruise since it's way out in the middle of the Atlantic and you have a lot of time on the water. The first two days we were parallel with the waves, so rocking/swaying was at a max. Even our friends who've been on multiple cruises before said the rocking of the ship was more than they'd ever experienced. The toilets also didn't flush occasionally, but that never became a serious issue. We also had poor weather those first two days, so the trip was off to a "not-so-desirable" start. The 3rd day throughout the remaining of the trip, the weather was beautiful. We loved the shows, captain's welcome cocktail hour, formal nights, lounge and casino. The food and restaurant service were top notch- exceeding my expectations. The pools were crowded as I expected, so if we go on another cruise, we'd choose a larger ship destined for somewhere in the Caribbean. Overall, we liked the cruise and would go again.

Cruise rescheduled by NanaBru

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This cruise, originally scheduled for June, but because of the "incident" was rescheduled for August. Our original dinner seating was for 6:00pm. Our party had two children(ages 6 and 8yrs.). This time we couldn't get our original seating time, we had 8:30pm. Not good for kids, I think RC could have done better, since our original cruise date was cancelled by RC and not us. However, everything else about this cruise was excellent. Service in our cabin and the diningroom was excellent. Chris(cabin attendant) and AJay(Diningroom Waiter) were very accommodating and personable. Kudo's too, to Jose(Head Waiter), who made the kids time in the diningroom entertaining with his magic tricks. Last but not least, Alex, AJay's assistant, went out of his way to make our dining experience and enjoyable one. Food was excellent, and we liked the fact, that everyday was different in choices, both buffet and in the diningroom. Entertainment was very good too. Hardworking Staff!

Great Birthday Celebration!!! by BhamaMama

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This was second trip on the Royal Caribbean cruise line. I took this cruise to celebrate my 60th B-Day and I had a blast! The food in the Windjammer and The Great Gasby was absolutely wonderful. The entertainment and activities was great. The ship's staff from the stateroom attendents to spa staff made you feel at home. Whatever you wanted to do, from relaxing watching the sunset, reading, dancing or working out to stay fit. It was ALL on the Grandeur of the Seas. I will definiately be looking forward to making future cruising on the Royal Caribbean.

Cruise from hell by cruisedBUT86

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Awful experience, but for a good waiter and assistant waiter, who could not improve the quality of the food, just offer more quantity, no thanks. Entertainment was good, insofar as shows went, not enough classes, and with lots of rain, admittedly not RC fault, needed classes!

7 day bermuda by gebtexas

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

First time on Grandeur . Not the mega liners but we enjoy the smaller vessels. This crew was the most friendly, excited and willing to please of any of the 16 cruises we have taken(I have never had a bad cruise or crew). They seemed to enjoy their jobs if that is possible. Two & 1/2 days at same port makes it a little more hectic. Bermuda is beautiful but expensive & still owned by Britain. The US Dollar is commonly used as well as the Bermuda dollar of the same value. No need to buy local currency. Food was acceptable but not to par of some other cruises except for the two specialty we did which was exceptional(Chops& Izumi). Dinner ok but meats were dry and overcooked. Buffet the same, and selection not great. All was not bad but not as good as we have had. Entertainment below other trips although second comedian very good. We dance a lot and found the dance venue in the back of the ship was only used twice while the centrum area with a small marble floor was used dailey. Both nights we had the band to ourselves while the lesser of the two bands played in the centrum. I think they need to reconcider the use of this room as it is mostly used for Bingo and art auctions. and kareoke. Overall a very nice cruise. Not 5 star but close.

Overall good experience by 1stTimeOnRC

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

The ship is clean and in good condition (but not great). The food was great at times, but only "fair" at other times. The staff is friendly and helpful. We are loyal Disney cruisers, went out on a limb with the Royal Caribbean Cruise, next time I would go back to Disney.

Bermuda "the third time" by travelingman

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

This was our "third" visit to Bermuda but our first on a cruise. Needless to say, trip #4 will be on the same boat we just toured on and never again by flying there. The itinerary and schedule was very accommodating to make you feel totally relaxed. I highly recommend Royal Caribbean for their staff services as well as the food quality and hospitality we were extended.

Couldn't have asked for more! by My1stCruise

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

This was my first experience on a cruise and I could not have been more satisfied. The stateroom was larger, quieter, and nice than I had anticipated. The service of our stateroom attendant was absolutely superb. The food in all locations of the ship was excellent and bounteous! Our waitress at the main dining room was delightful and efficient. We developed an instant relationship with her and looked forward to seeing her every evening. Every employee on the ship was attentive and friendly, and customer service was obviously their main objective. The evening shows were excellent, especially the Motown tribute group, which brought the house down. There was always something to do, or the option not to do it! The check-in, boarding, check-out, and departure processes went very smoothly and quickly, when you consider that they were handling over 2000 passengers. It was obvious that this cruise line worked hard to make everyone's trip enjoyable, and they were eager to earn good ratings. They have succeeded in both categories for me and my family. I would not hesitate to travel with Royal Caribbean again, or to use to book it.

A Great Vacation by Kentull

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

Best cruise experience ever. Great food, service. Wonderful destination, Bermuda is a beautiful country. My only regret is not having more time to spend there. The only negative thing I can say is that we were disappointed in the shows that featured the singers and dancers. Very mediocre performances.

Awesome Experience by boothjm

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

Lots of things to do. Great food. We had a major flood in our cabin that caused a lot of problems, but everything else was good. Maintenance had to come back a couple times to try to stop the leak and we had a blower in the room the whole time trying to dry it out. Our room smelled like mildew all week.

Good Cruise! by GladToBeMe

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

We enjoyed a fantastic week on the Grandeur of the Seas, though even though she has been over hauled, she is beginning to show her age, and she is smaller than most of the newer ships, at about 916 feet. We did not think the entertainment in the theater was all that great, but we did enjoy the aerial act that took place in the Centrum three nights. The staff, especially our stateroom attendant were great. The food and variety were excellent too. Bermuda was a true paradise. The weather was superb (in July), and there are lots of activities, culture, shopping and more.
