A wonderful cruise by GailS6

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This is by far the best and most beautiful ship we've ever been on. There is soo much fun all over the ship, and the cruise director is absolutely amazing. We have been really spoiled by this ship, and will have a hard time going on any other ships if they don't equal this one.

Excellent from start to finish by KathleenK

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The ship was fabulous - I made a poor cabin choice (location) but that was my fault. We were impressed that as large as the ship was and it was a sell-out, it never appeared to be crowded anywhere on board. I loved the gym facilities - in fact I loved everything about the cruise. Portofino restaurant was fabulous and my one regret was that we couldn't get a reservation at the steak house. We will definitely be a return guest on board. Kudos to the entertainers on board.

First time cruising and loved it!!! by NicoletteW

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was a beautiful ship that had everything you could ask for and more, The staff, everyone of them that we spoke to were very friendly and helped in every way that they could. Shopping on board was excellent, I thought because the shops were limited we would be charged that little bit extra, but that was not the case at all, everything was very low priced, and excellent value for money. Entertainment was also brilliant, something for everyone from bingo to talent shows to first class magician shows.

A Pleasant Surprise by RichardR14

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We had not cruised with Royal Carribean, since our first cruise on Voyager about 6 or 7 years ago. We have cruised with other cruise lines about 3 additional times, usually on the newest or biggest ships. Although we had a good experience on the Voyager, what drew us away was the the entertainment experience on other ships. What a huge improvement was experienced in just the entertainment. The cruise director, Richard was fantastic. His personality was perfect and lent a lot to the experience, but the overall quality of production, entertainers, and sheer amount of options was incredible. We experienced good service, good food, nice facilities, and a broad array of opportunities to keep ourselves entertained. Our only disapointment was in the dining experience. We chose the late seating option at a table of 6 to provide a opportunity to engage new people. The food and service were very good. However the match up was not good. We were matched with a couple who never came to dinner and a young first time cruise couple who may have been intimidated by the formality and the cost of tipping. The result was that we had company at the table only the first night. We were not allowed to make other arrangements than sitting alone. I think that Royal Carribean may need to look at how to address this in the future. The overall cruise experience was great!

It was great by BarryG9

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We were concerned with waiting in lines because of so many people, this was not an issue at all,for example we showed up 15 min early for the shows no problem, finding lounge chairs by the pool no problem even when we had to use tenders to get off the ship was not an issue. We felt the quality of the food has gone down a bit, but we would still go on the same ship again and RCCL.

Best Ship EVER! by JamesH14

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Huge, beautiful ship! I alway tell people to make the most of any situation and we defintely did that on this ship! We went to a couple of art seminars and auctions and learned a lot of interesting history and what to look for in aquiring a piece. We also went to a few health seminars and learned the proper way to detox and the secret to flatter abs. All the food on board was great, they even had a real pizzeria that features exotic pizzas with awesome toppings. The spa ran specials like crazy! Most of their items was half to less than half the price on land (teeth whitening, facials, etc.). We had a balcony suite and the view was amazing! It was a great place to drink coffee in the morning and listen to the waves or do whatever "lovebirds" do, :-).

The perfect get out there week by BarbaraS29

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We were afraid of long lines and crowds, however, we didn't encounter that at all. Our Jr Suite was amazing and the service was incredible from one end of the ship to the other. The crew really takes pride in their jobs and it shows by the way they maintain the ship. The only thing we didn't like was allowing smoking in the Casino. The nighttime entertainment was terrific and the costumes were beautiful. Sinking into the luxurious bedding every night just made each day complete with a perfect ending!

Freedom is a dream come true by EllenP6

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This was my first cruise and I have been told no other could hold a candle to the Freedom of the Seas. The entertainment is top notch, the Portofino restaurant is 5 star in my book. I f I had known how great Portofino was I would have booked it for every meal. What a buy! The main dining romm was super, the service personnel had a parade and other brief show on 3 nights. The selection and quality of the food is great. I do not usually order any steak other than filet minon because of the poor quality and toughness of the meat. I suggest you do the same. The filet minon was superb - the deserts were beautiful - it's all about the service and the food. The daytime activities for children were great, the alternative activities for adults (other than the pool, bingo and gambling) was limited to health seminars to sell more health services and shopping seminars. I do not suggest you spend $25 on the shopping book. If you are buying huge diamonds then get advise from the agent on the ship. Just use a little common sense when you do shop. Get ready for the ice show, the passenger entertainment was very innovative to say the least. You may watch all the passenger activities on the ship's tv channel in your room. The in room tv program showing how the Fredom was conceived and built is a must see. If you love people being who they are you don't want to miss the passenger shows. i loved the cruise director and her assistants. They really know how to entertain. There is a continuous schedule of events and activities including food. The pools and florider (catch a wave on a boogie board) was fun to watch. My only disappointment was the golf simulator was out of service when I wanted to use it. I can't wait to go again!

Ruined vacation by CaitlinD

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The ship is pretty nice, but there are just too many people on it to make it enjoyable. You're always waiting for an elevator and they're all packed. The pool areas on sea days are so jammed you can hardly find a space to get in the water. The worst part was that on the second day we had things stolen from our cabin while we were at formal night and RC did very little to help us out. We had to wait in the service line over and over to get help. Dialing "O" did nothing since they rarely picked up because they were so busy dealing with people in line.

A terrible cruise experience by ColleenM3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The ship was beautiful. The sports activities were great - Flow rider, rock climbing, mini golf, ice skating, sports court, even the game room. The entertainment was top notch. The bad thing is that there are way too many people to make it enjoyable since you are always waiting in line.

A fabulous cruise! by LouF

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We just returned from a wonderful week on the Freedom of the Seas and this ship is spectacular. I was afraid a ship lauded as "The largest in the world" would be too big and impersonal, but this was not the case at all. The Freedom IS huge, but the staff treated us like old friends. The kids had a great time Ice Skating for the first time (we are from Florida) and boogie boarding on the flowmaster. Wwe all really enjoyed the parades and parties on the promenade. Becky our cruise director was awesome and everyone loved her. One of the best cruises we have ever been on!

A spectacular ship and wonderful cruise by JohnP40

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Very large and very new. This ship really has it all. Very efficient,. We were apprehensive about getting on a ship with 4000+ passengers but you eally do not sense there are that many people on board. Everyone went out of their way to make the passengers happy. The shows were fantastic. and Ice skating ( who would have thought). If you like the feel of the feel of smaller ships, deck 4 makes you feel more intimate with the ocean and the sounds of the sea. When you have had too much fun, or just want a quiet place to read, that's the place to go.
