Ruined vacation

Traveled As: Family w/older children

Room Type: Balcony

The ship is pretty nice, but there are just too many people on it to make it enjoyable. You're always waiting for an elevator and they're all packed. The pool areas on sea days are so jammed you can hardly find a space to get in the water. The worst part was that on the second day we had things stolen from our cabin while we were at formal night and RC did very little to help us out. We had to wait in the service line over and over to get help. Dialing "O" did nothing since they rarely picked up because they were so busy dealing with people in line.

Pros: The shows

Cons: Too crowded

Recommends Freedom of the Seas? No.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten
Again, snorkeling okay. I heard people who went to the French side had a better time.
Don't Miss: Blue Caribbean water.
Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas
Too little time to explore much. We took a good snorkel trip to Turtle Cove. The crew was great on this pirate ship, although personally I prefer boats with showers and food/beverage service.
Don't Miss: Don't know of anything spectacular

San Juan, Puerto Rico
We were supposed to take a city tour. The ship got in at 3pm and the driver informed us that it was rush hour and too busy to take the normal tour so he made a detour and we got a tour of the rundown town and some schools and then traffic on the freeway. We barely made it to the fort on time, which was the only good part of the tour.
Don't Miss: Old fort overlooking city
