Review summary

I love this Alaskan cruise. It was unfortunate that the weather didn't accomodate us as much as I would have liked. I may receommend doing a sailing earlier in the year to avoid the rainiest times.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Very smooth. With all documentation prepared we walked on a little earlier than our scheduled board time.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food is always excellent on Holland America. My wife even got one of their recipes!

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The trivia events were our favorite. Maybe having some real stakes/prizes might be fun but I could see how it would be hard to stop cheating given the venues.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
There was a dance crew and quartet on our cruise that did an amazing job. Our dueling piano players were also fantastic! Would have been nice if the "dance club" times started a little earlier than 11:30pm.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The service was fantastic as always. All of the servers were engaging, kind, polite, and overall really made the experience.

Ship tip

Meet the servers and bartenders. Strike up conversations with the crew. They are all veterans and are great people.

CRUISE STEPHENS PASSAGE

Would be 5 stars but we got absolutely drenched on our excursion. Guide even said it was ununsual the amount of rain we saw. So not the best experience, but they can't control the weather.

Cruise Glacier Bay

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

Sitka, Alaska

Ketchikan, Alaska

When they change the disembarcation time they need to update the descriptions of the excursions to account for less time on the shore. The fishing trip was fun, but seemed way to short due to the change.

Victoria, British Columbia

4 out of 5
Beautiful city.

Disembarkation

Thanks for sharing your cruise.

Glad you understand that the cruise lines cannot control the weather (I’m sure they would if they could). Appreciate your feedback.

The Alaska cruise is in a rain forest, that means 120 inches of rain a year
