Enchantment of the Seas by Cruiser663

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Overall, the purpose of the trip (having a relaxing Thanksgiving with family members) was accomplished. We spent most of our time in the Solarium. Bad weather precluded going to Cococay, so we had to spend two days in Nassau. We stayed on board the whole time as this was not our first trip, plus it was windy. We were disappointed in the theater entertainment as described in comments, but really enjoyed a band from the Philippines and the pianists. I enjoyed the Trivia games. The cruise director, Topi, was the star in my opinion. He was very talented and saved the shows. The 70's/80's night was great fun, as was the 50's/60's night. The food in the dining room was very good; the breakfast in the Windjammer was a little disappointing, but lunch was good. The wait staff in the dining room were wonderful. The so-called Anytime Dining is limited because we could not reserve between 6:30 and 7:30. Because we were a party of eight we settled for 6 pm. which worked well on the nights we went at that time. One night we reserved for 7:30 pm and it was a disaster. We were called then ignored. Finally one of our party had to call the Maitre D to get us to our table. We missed the theater show as a result.

The Crown and Anchor meeting was painful; I'm surprised they would subject all those returnees to such a drawn-out boring program.

Not what I expected as a 1st Time Cruiser... by marthamoore38

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

For the most part the ship appeared to be out dated, but upon entering it was nice, clean and well maintained all except inside my cabin. The room attendant was very courteous and informative to my family and I but the room wreaked of a boys locker room and the bathroom smelled even worse, like a portal potty. I myself brought Lysol spray and Lysol wipes to wipe surface areas because I have a toddler and it still didn't get rid of that stink. The food was edible, but again not what I expected for how much we paid for our "Royal Caribbean" cruise experience. There was no omelet bar, the syrup was watery, the package syrup was sugar free, they served powder eggs and the grits were lumpy. In Windjammers there were 2 constantly moving buffet lines but even the eating area was outdated. Upon exiting that restaurant on the right side if you look to your left near the frozen ice cream section that area was never tidy. However, My Fair Lady was very much so up to par. Their variety of food was amazing and our server & server assistant was great. They were very clean and well organized. The Orpheum had a foul odor. The adult pool on the 9th floor annex had old smelly lounge chairs and kids were always in the hot tub. The winds were so bad at sea that the captain cancelled Cococay and we spent 2 days in Nassau with the heckling people all over the place. We could not even enjoy the beach without someone asking if we wanted to buy something. On day 3 I went to deck 10 to lay out and soak up some sun and all the lounge chairs had been tied down because the winds were so high. The water in the pool was rocking back and forth so much that it wet the deck. For one minute I thought the ship was coming apart. On our last night the motion in the ocean was so bad that the cabinet doors and drawers kept opening and closing. It was the worst night out of the four because I could not sleep. I am sure someone could have told us that we picked a bad week to set sail before we experienced this mayhem!!! I would have gleefully rescheduled. Don't get me wrong, this trip was an experience but it was totally not what I expected. There were over 100 activities that they had planned for us, even though they were NOT all all FREE. It was fun to get out with other family members on board and partake in some of the events they had planned. Someone said I picked a bad month to cruise, I am not sure if I will ever go back again.Sad

Not happy by bamu197

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Many disappointed experiences. They boys cabins were to be decorated for Birthdays and they were not. I was told, very rudely, that this ship does not decorated despite the fact that I paid before we sailed. Or table was moved and we were almost in the servers area.Someone always had to move their chair so the servers could get the food. We did not ask to be changed and liked our original table. Most of the crew did not seem to want to be on this cruise. Some were rude and we did not see the usual smiles and warmth that we experienced on other ships Then cruise director was never seen, and was not friendly or enthusiastic. Weather prevented us from going to the private island but few activities were planned for the he extra day on the ship. RCCL lost their WOW on this ship

We are not cruise people....and it's ok by kmoffittfamily

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We were so excited to go on our first cruise.  We travel the Caribbean every year by flying to a Sandals resort and staying on the island.  We thought we would try a cruise to see if we liked it or not.  Needless to say, we are not cruise people.  We arrived at Port Canaveral and got checked in and got on the ship.  (Let me say - the Port is wonderful - looks brand new and the staff is very helpful!)  We were impressed with the ship and the amenities.  We thought what wonderful trip ahead of us we had!  The room was a typical stateroom on a ship.  We did not upgrade for a larger room - as you are not typically in the room that much.  We were disappointed in the food on the ship.  Everything had a bland taste to it - to us.  We were given a 7:45 pm dinner time every night - which is very late for us to eat.  There was no way to change our meal time.  The staff was wonderful and very polite and professional.  The entertainment staff was top notch - from Topi the Cruise Director, to Moe the Activities Director to all the musicians and dancers! The weather played a big part in our not having a wonderful trip.  The winds were blowing around 40-48 knots the entire trip.  We were stuck in Nassau for 2 full days due to the winds.  We couldn't go to Coco Cay - (private island) for a day of Sun and Fun.  We will not be cruising again - and that's ok.  From the amount of people and families that were on this trip, many, many more people enjoying cruising than we do.

Thanksgiving Nightmare by Pam853

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

As frequent Royal Caribbean customers we were disappointed in our 4 day Bahamas cruise on the Enchantment of the Seas. Our cabin was missing a mini frig even though it was promised. Ship was old looking. Our cabin was missing the normal light over the bathroom sink( light fixture there, but didn't work, one side of the bathroom wall mounted medicine cabinet did not open, Cabinet where refrigerator usually goes lacked outlet so when they finally brought us a refrigerator it had to go where desk chair goes.

Food was the worst we've had on any cruise line. At breakfast I ordered scrambled eggs and bacon. They kept bringing me undercooked Egg Beaters.  They never did cook my bacon as requested. I also asked for hot chocolate made with milk, they kept bringing me hot chocolate made with water. The first night I asked for bacon bits and cheddar cheese with my baked potatoes only to be told it couldn't be done. The next night they brought me bacon bits and cheese but never brought me my potato.  Desserts were limited and all seemed to be jello based. Room Service menu was only one page, as opposed to the usual 3 or 4.

Bad weather trapped us on board with over 400 children whose parents seemed to think they were on vacation from disciplining their unruly children. My elderly mother was run into, or hit with waving napkins by some of these hellions.  We paid $ 30 each to eat at Chops thinking we would have a quiet relaxing decent meal only to have our dinner ruined by several whiny four year olds.  Unless you enjoy a ship over run with screaming children avoid a cruise of less than 7 days during Thanksgiving or Christmas.

The cruise ship crew were very friendly and our room was clean.  I highly recommend the beverage premium package. It includes several kind of liquors like: beers, vodka and black label...

Great Cruise!! by MichaelBranham

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

My wife and I had a blast on the cruise. This was our first time on RC. I can promise you that it will not be the last. The entire staff was great and super nice. The cruise director, Topi, was awesome. He was the best we've ever had. I hope to have him on another cruise soon. Roilan Magsino (stateroom attendant), was also the best we've ever had. Him and his staff took very good care of us and our room. Jaquileena was super and took very good care of us during dinner. We sat with the same group by request. She was first class all the way. The comedy shows were the best for me. Landry and side show Bert was the best I've seen. Walter on our Jet ski tour was a very good young man. He took extra precautions to make sure everyone was safe and stayed together. Coca Cay was the best part of our stops. A place that you can truly kick back and relax. We are going to book this one again. RC met all of our expectations. First class all the way.

Cruise Report by Browhite

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

we had a great cruise and a fun time.  The meals were good and the entertainment excellent.  You have to realize that the ship is getting old and shows some wear and may be retired in the not too distant future.  The service on the ship was wonderful.  We had no problem going through customs and getting off the ship. I gave it four stars because of the food, good but not up to par of past cruises and the condition of the ship.  Personnel were five stars.  Pat and Joe White

Wonderful crew! by lcolaizzi

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

From start to finish, it was an awesom experience

this was my 3rd cruise with Royal Caribbean but the very first with my friend, and everyone was so friendly and efficient.  Our stateroom attendant was super nice,  always replenished our towels and left towel creatures to thrill us

the dining room attendants, Gavin and Geraldo were very sweet and attentive too.

They always asked each individual if their food was good and offered great alternatives. And Gavin always poured my favorite tea.

I know you probably hear it often, but I "cannot find anything to complain about"!

enchantment of the sea by bgelee

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

the cruise and service was excellant  my problem is with the cruises only booking service, they had promiced a $200.00 on board spending as we had booked a suite and we got NOTHING from them. so be very careful when booking from there service............there exact words were:  royal carribean    enchantment of the sea  4 nights    $522 per person/ $200 on board spending  from nov 16 to the 20.        2 couples  to suites and neither of us got a dime worth of spending from cruises only. so tell me who got our $200.oo spending.  what a come on  dont fall for this.oh wow  now they are offering $300.oo on board spending for dec 24 to 28. YEAH RIGHT.

very horrible trip by mcanfield01

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This was a horrible trip that I waited all year for. The ship was old and didn't have much to do. The food was horrible and made me sick most nights. My booking got messed up to where all my friends had to eat at separate tables. Royal carribean shut off our football game and everyone on the ship was mad especially after not being able to go on the second port. The weather was bad which we can not control of course. But overall it was not fun or worth anything close to what I payed.

Would not book on this size ship again. by phyllise158

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We requested a large oceanview room, what we got was just enough to  turn around in with no refrig. a table that was maybe 12" round.  We asked to move but they said they were sold out.  When we booked we were told by your agent on llne that if we booked then we would get $200 in ship credit.  He did not mention that it was determined by what room we booked and we got $50.00 instead which we found out at customer services.  When I called  you to find out what happened I was put on hold for 40 min. twice until I got an agent.  He said we were told about the credit, but I could not find any e-mail that said that direct.  The wait staff  was great and the show good.  Not as much shop supplies as on the other ships we have been on with Royal Carib.

One of the best cruises ever! by sondrabussell

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

EOS may be an older ship, but it's elegant and reminiscent of the splendor of bygone eras.  It is easy to see why Royal Caribbean has such a loyal base of customers.  I doubt I will ever step foot on another Carnival cruise ship.  Enchantment's shows were wonderful, the service exceptional, and the overall experience joyously unforgettable.

Very enjoyeable & relaxing cruise by jimroberts

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We have been on several other Royal Caribbean cruises before - but this was our first trip on the Enchantment of the Seas.   Services provided by the ship's staff were excellent and the cruise was very relaxing.   The RCCL private island, Coco Cay is especially colorful and beautiful - we enjoyed it very much!

Enjoyment! by pkulley

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

The cruise aboard the Enchantment of the Seas was very enjoyable.   We had a balcony room and liked being able to sit, read, and relax.    We had a very friendly, pleasant room steward.   The Solarium, which was for adults only, provided a pool and a small cafe with delicious food.   There were tables and chairs for eating breakfast and lunch if desired and many lounge chairs.   The only drawback was, if you wished to work on your tan, you had to go to the main pools or the walk/run deck.   The formal dining rooms had wonderful meals and good choices.   We had a great waiter and a lively, fun assistant waiter.    We found the singers and dancers well coached, and the choreography was outstanding.    As this was a short cruise we preferred to stay aboard instead of going on excursions.    Good value for an enjoyable cruise!

Relaxing Cruise by broshong

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

My wife and I just completed a relaxing cruise to the Bahamas. The boarding process was the best that we ever had. The ship was a nice size, not too big! The activities were nice, food was very good and the spa was excellent. The evening entertainment and room steward were below average. The disembarkment procedure was also excellent.
