Review summary
For the most part the ship appeared to be out dated, but upon entering it was nice, clean and well maintained all except inside my cabin. The room attendant was very courteous and informative to my family and I but the room wreaked of a boys locker room and the bathroom smelled even worse, like a portal potty. I myself brought Lysol spray and Lysol wipes to wipe surface areas because I have a toddler and it still didn't get rid of that stink. The food was edible, but again not what I expected for how much we paid for our "Royal Caribbean" cruise experience. There was no omelet bar, the syrup was watery, the package syrup was sugar free, they served powder eggs and the grits were lumpy. In Windjammers there were 2 constantly moving buffet lines but even the eating area was outdated. Upon exiting that restaurant on the right side if you look to your left near the frozen ice cream section that area was never tidy. However, My Fair Lady was very much so up to par. Their variety of food was amazing and our server & server assistant was great. They were very clean and well organized. The Orpheum had a foul odor. The adult pool on the 9th floor annex had old smelly lounge chairs and kids were always in the hot tub. The winds were so bad at sea that the captain cancelled Cococay and we spent 2 days in Nassau with the heckling people all over the place. We could not even enjoy the beach without someone asking if we wanted to buy something. On day 3 I went to deck 10 to lay out and soak up some sun and all the lounge chairs had been tied down because the winds were so high. The water in the pool was rocking back and forth so much that it wet the deck. For one minute I thought the ship was coming apart. On our last night the motion in the ocean was so bad that the cabinet doors and drawers kept opening and closing. It was the worst night out of the four because I could not sleep. I am sure someone could have told us that we picked a bad week to set sail before we experienced this mayhem!!! I would have gleefully rescheduled. Don't get me wrong, this trip was an experience but it was totally not what I expected. There were over 100 activities that they had planned for us, even though they were NOT all all FREE. It was fun to get out with other family members on board and partake in some of the events they had planned. Someone said I picked a bad month to cruise, I am not sure if I will ever go back again.
