Great accommodations but handicapped beware by 2chicks2party

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I took an 89 year old friend on this cruise for her birthday.  I made sure to request handicapped accommodations and asked if we should bring a wheelchair or if one was available for boarding only since she used a walker. I was assured there would be one available.  Going up the boarding ramp was the problem but she could easily handle going down upon our return.  The balcony stateroom was perfect as was the service.  The food was excellent and her birthday celebration was much fun.  The problem was no wheelchair was available when we arrived at the terminal!  "Cliff" at the terminal called around and finally was able to locate a wheelchair and we were assisted by a delightful man, Simpson, through the check in and boarding quite nicely.  I immediately went to guest services to arrange for an early departure as recommended by the folks at the terminal.  We were told to go to the 4th level (Bolero) on the morning we arrived back in Jacksonville.  This is where the problems started.  There was no one on the 4th level to guide us and we were told by a crewman on board that we needed to go to the 5th floor.  We were then directed by another crewman to go across the ship and to get in line where we stood for 45 minutes before we were able to loop through the theater and back to where we started with the 5th floor crewman.  This was very frustrating to my friend on her walker.  We were then told we needed to go down on an elevator to the 4th floor (where we originally were) and then we were "fed" through the line we had been in waiting in the theater to leave the ship.  By this time my friend was exhausted and most upset, even in tears.  We had to go ever so slowly by now since she was so worn out and we finally got to the terminal after zig-zaging down the ramps.  She could have easily come down had she not stood in line and been sent around the ship on the 5th floor and then back to the 4th floor.  When we got to the terminal the people there immediately saw her distress and guided us efficiently through customs and outside where she was finally able to sit down.  This ruined a perfectly lovely cruise and left a very bad impression on my friend who had cruised many times in earlier years, three times to Alaska and once to Hawaii.  Better signage would have helped if crew were unavailable.  Extra care should be given to handicapped passengers when the cruise ends.  Otherwise, we had a wonderful time.

Worst Customer Service by santiagoe617

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Good Morning,

My intention of this cruise was to relax and enjoy the trip, but it was totally the opposite. I ask a staff member to assist me in getting Lemonade and he stated he couldn't move from his section "it wasn't his job", even though I was in a stiff- soled shoe and crutches. I ask another staff member to assist me with my tray, and he stated I will be right back and never return. Sadly to say, I had a complete stranger to assist me.

When it was time to check out, they belittle my son, who went to pay for gratitude. I had to hop back to customer service and handle the situation myself. Room service will never pick up and I had to go across the ship, with crutches just to get a drink. I can honestly say, this was the worse trip and service, ever!!

If you do not like Cigar/Cigarette smoke do not go on this cruise by kchristopher3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

The casino on this ship is open on both ends allowing the smoke to permeate throughout the ship.  I'm actually allergic to the smoke and I now have a sinus infection.

They also advertise a port call in Cococay, their private island.  This time of year the seas are too rough to stop there so we only had one stop.

A pipe broke in the wall of our stateroom and flooded the floor.  After 2 days they offered to move us but the cruise was almost over.  They are suppose to mail us a coupon for a 30% discount on our next cruise.  I think this is cheap, they should give us something more.

Service on this ship was excellent, the people were friendly and good at what they do, food was good.

Would never sail on this ship again.  Other ships we've been on have casinos that are enclosed and the smoke does not offend.  Will have to investigate that before we would ever do another cruise.

I would sail with Royal Caribbean again, I have 3 times before and have never had a problem.  This cruise was a disaster in my opinion.

Cruise ship is 3 stars...Weather was bad by AndresC78

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We stayed in a inside stateroom at Deck 8.

Stateroom is about 10x8, with enough closet space for 3, bathroom is 5x5 at most. Room is very outdated, I could compare to a Motel 8 room from early 90s. It had a nice flat TV but nothing amazing.

We knew we were staying at the worst room in the ship, but as we passed through the rest of the room in our level, they looked all the same to me.

We left on Jan 4 and returned on Jan 8. Weather was terrible, it rained on us almost every day, winds of 30 and 40 mph. and this affected us a lot. They didn't let us stop at Cocokay and Nassau was just very windy and rainy.

We were first time cruisers, for our taste the ship moved too much, we would wake up in the middle of the night due to the doors closing and opening, things falling and our cabinets door constantly opening and closing. We don't get sea sick, but it was just very uncomfortable for us. This happened almost every time we were on sea, but a lot!

If you have the chance to go and get one of the rooms at the bottom and back of the ship, that's where it feels that less.

Food was 4 stars, kid's entertainment was 4 stars, pool area is very nice and adult entertainment was good too.

We had a 6 year old, they had food for her age and tons to do.

Do not pick inside staterooms, I know they are cheaper and tempting but for a hundred dollars more, get something with a view or a suite.

Service was acceptable...I was expecting a little more to do since we were inside basically through the whole trip, but it was limited.

Fun but no beach! by gsullivan4673

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We had a good time but the weather did not allow us to go to the beach at all.  Cold, windy and rainy except for one day - at sea!  The cabins were great and the food in the dining rooms was great.  The breakfast and lunch buffets were kind of hectic - the staff was wonderful.

Jan 2016 Enchantment cruise by mfarris40

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

It was great, weather was crazy though.

Overall service and staff were amazing.   I enjoyed the food, activities and the cabin was nice too. Big Smile   I loved rock climbing at the back of the ship, it was very high but you are roped in with a staff member holding rope (belay).   The solarium is my favorite spot for relaxing, swimming, reading, eating, etc...

Excellent by ekillacky

It was an amazing trip! My wait staff was amazing!

Jun from Philippines and Ovidiu from Romania were over the top and so accommodating, and were extremely friendly and caring. Thanks guys!! I miss them already.

Although, I was not crazy about Celia from Dominca. She was a bit rude to me and my friend a few times whenever we went to be seated for dinner. She had an attitude at times.

Also the activities were a lot of fun!! Isaac from Spain made everything so much fun and entertaining.

Excellent Cruise with some issues by sachinthakre

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

The Cruise travel, ship, entertainment was fantastic. Loved the food, service at the restaurants on the cruise. The staff is very friendly and helpful. That is all the good part... some negatives are... that we did not get to go to cocoa bay beach as part of the tour, although the weather had improved on our way back from Bahamas. Also the room service was very good, but I am seeing some of my things n my cousins things missing after the cruise in our luggage...Overall great experience but have some sour taste in mouth

Had a great getaway! by renman43

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Weather prevented landing at Coco cay, we preferred being onboard anyways.  Despite the wind and rain, we did go ashore in Nassau.  Did a little shopping.  Caught up on things via free wifi at McDonalds.  Took Jitney 10 from in front of McDonalds to the zoo and back. $1.25 each way.  Pay at the destination. Tell them where you want to go.  (Zoo is pretty minimal, but had some exotic birds and plants there.)   Food in the main dining room was ok, but we preferred the freedom of dining in the Windjammer.  Lots of choices, and we liked the food.  Met some nice folks.  Casino was fine.  Had some $10 blackjack tables.  Boarding and departure were smooth and easy.

New Years Eve Cruise by smtidt

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Had a wonderful time on the cruise.  This was a first time experience for me and some friends.  One of the things that would have been good to know is that when you get to the port terminal, you can pull up to unload all of your luggage first before parking the car instead of parking the car and then having to lug all the bags back down to have them put on the ship.

We had no problems going through the line to get our sea pass and were able to go straight to our room and put our carry on bags in.  A few of our bags had already made it to the room by the time we had gotten there.

New Year's Eve party  was jumping and the party then moved from the main gallery up to the pool deck and continued on until well after I had gone to bed.

The next day we were at Coco Cay, the cruise lines private island and we didn't do any of the excursions.  We just went to the beach area and laid out and went into the water.  Crystal clear water.  Food was ok on the island but much better on board the ship.

The cruise had plenty of activities on board from alcohol tastings to movies being played and shows in the theater.

The main dining room food and staff were excellent.  Could not have been better.  From our head waiter Laura to our table waiter, Gavin.  Attention to detail and making us happy and content was their number one goal.

Room Steward was excellent also.  He knew our names and room number on the very first day on board.

Fabulous time together for our Family! by mkmorrison1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We booked this cruise as our Family holiday trip and our daughters 13th birthday! It was everything we expected and more, while yes the room is small and the bathroom is small it is a ship and that is to be expected. We were a little disappointed in that when I looked at the rooms online there was a curtain that we should have been able to draw to give our daughter a little more privacy however that wasnt in our room. Our steward Jimson was over the top great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't tell you how excited we are go on another cruise. The drink package is a must and karaoke is fabulously fun!!!!

Good last minute cruise by melinda111181

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

we were a little disappointed in the cleanliness of the room. Certainly could tell this is one of the oldest ships in fleet. Should definitely be refurbished asap. Food was actually very good! Lots of soda machines Not working and should be more strategically placed throughout ship. Entertainment was ok. Overall we had a good time.

3 Day Cruise to Bahamas by fernsemiao

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)

The ship and crew were excellent. The food and service were very good as well. The only improvement would be the second day at Nassau, we had to pay to go to any beach. I would recommend this cruise

21st Birthday Celebration by Cruiser607

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Cruise was fine, bar service could be much faster,  way too long to wait for a cocktail,  the slow service was not worth the gratuity paid out.  Room attendant was awesome, he definitely worked for his tip and beyond!Big Smile

Christmas Holiday 2015 Cruise by Sandy43

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Every year we take our Family on a Christmas Vacation.  From start to finish this was the perfect Holiday Cruise.  The ship was decorated beautiful, the food was great, the excursions were so much fun.  This is the second time my husband and I have been on this cruise, I would do it again.  After the cruise we stayed a few days on Cocoa Beach, from our hotel we could watch the cruises go in and out of the port.
