Review summary

As experience cruisers, we cruise to get away from it all.  That said, we don't attend big shows or play Bingo, but find quiet places to escape on the ship to play cards, read a book, and enjoy a good drink.  We thought the beverage packages options were exceptional and like the options provided.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
After disappointing food and rude service in the My Fair Lady dining room, we opted to eat the rest of our meals in the Windjammer. There, every staff member we encountered was friendly, greeting us warmly, remembering us, and asking if they could assist. The food, while maybe not presented as nicely, was plentiful, with more choices, and better quality.

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We did not attend the big shows. But we were especially impressed by the cruise director, Topi's acoustic guitar session in the Schooner Bar as well as his 50's & 60's Tribute show. The cover band, Rockport, was excellent and we attended as many of their shows as we could.

Service and Staff

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
She's showing some wear, but was spotless throughout.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our room was spotless, with lots of storage. Dexter took great care of us and the room was made up every time we returned. My son's dorm room has a thicker, more comfortable mattress and the pillows were useless.

Ship tip

The Schooner Bar is the place to be at night. It's a hidden beauty that becomes more and more crowded as the week progresses and people realize it's there.

And I should also mention that of all the ships we've been on this one had the most things for both people wanting quiet and people wanting action or entertainment.

We've had both the alcoholic and non-alcoholic packages and we estimate if you drink 2 drinks a day it is well worth it.

I believe the non alcoholic package was like $22/day or something like that. :)

Do they offer non-alcoholic drink packages

hrbassett...this was the first time we'd ever done a drink passage.  I will say that we drank more than we usually did - but NOT to excess!  Just a few cocktails during the day.  It certainly saved $$ and took the worry off whether or not we'd met our self-imposed $$ limit for the day.

Yes,.average mixed drink 12-14 dollars each.

this is something we've been contemplating on whether to do or not. hubby and I both like to have a few drinks here and there. nothing excessive, but is it worth the money?
