"Better than I expected" by KathleenP2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I thought that the ship was tastefully decorated. I enjoyed hearing a pianist and I boarded the ship. I thought I was at Nordstroms. The crew was friendly and really on top of things. Royal Caribbean pays attention to details and it shows. Although I booked the cheapest cabin, I loved my room and felt like a little princess sleeping on my sheets embroidered with silver thread with the ship's insignia. I also loved the towel animals. My favorite was an elephant. It was so wonderful, I didn't have the heart to use the towel, so I kept it a whole day.

This is what you call a vacation by StacyA5

Being my first cruise, I thought the ship size was just right. The ship itself was very clean, and areas were very accessible.

First Time Cruise....nice. by DavisA

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

For first time cruiser, this ship is ideal. It's smaller, so it easy to navigate around. There are just enough activities to keep you occupied if you wish and plenty of opportunity to do nothing undisturbed if you wish. The crowd control is amazing. Rarely did I encounter more that a few hundred people at one time, even though there were 2500 on the ship.

raiting between 3.5 and 4.0 by YuriyA

I don't like pool on this ship. Since first day, water never changed in pool... Pool was dirty. Also some cruises lines (Carnival) replaced water in pool and cleaned pool every day. Enchantment of the Seas is not. Water in the pool not from ocean or from Caribbean Sea Also not enough shower cabins, wich is located close to the pool. I think this very important.

The worst vacation I ever had by DavidL15

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

First off they want you to buy a coke pass as if the price you paid for the cruse they can't afford to give you a drink to wash down the bad food. Okay now, after you pay $30.00 plus 15% gratuity for a coke pass try to get some one to bring you a coke. Most of the time at the buffet we were almost finished eating until we got our coke. We only went to the dining room one time. Not much to chose from. Some of the meals you had to pay extra for. My wife got some kind of pork. It was not done. Yes that's right red in the middle. Pork is not supposed to be rare. The rest of our table was done eating until the watter finely brought us our coke and asked if everything was okay. She didn't want anything else after that bad experience. We went to the buffet for her to get something to eat. I noticed on formal night a lot of people coming into the buffet after their formal meal to finish filling up.. I could go on and on about how bad the food and service was but there is no sense wasting any more of my time with such a bad experience. This was my first and last cruse.

Amazing Experience! by DianaL2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was just an excellent cruise, and exceeded my expectations. Room service changed our room twice each day, always greeting us in a friendly way. They decorated our room with these charming animal towels, a different one each day. My kids loved this. The food was excellent (and I'm a food snob), activities were always available, there was always something to do, whatever your thing was. I went as a single mom with my children and I had an absolutely great time and so did my kids, who range in age from 10 to 20. (My object was not to meet another man, though--my object was to socialize, have fun, have a good time. If you're a middle aged single person and want to meet another person who is not 30 years younger than you and not married, this particular cruise would not be a good cruise to go on; go on a singles cruise.)

An OKay Cruise by AmandaQ

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The beginning of our cruise was great! We met great people and friendly staff. After a couple of days we had some problems. Some one got off with our digital camera the last night and looking for someone to help my husband and I was a joke. I went to the customer relations desk, which at the time had a very long line and I needed to see if someone turned in my camera. So i polietly went to the lady that was helping someone and asked her nicely if anyone had tunred in a Digital camera and she rudely responded to me to get in the back of the line. All she had to tell me was yes or no and I could continue somewhere else looking for it. Instead I stood in like for 30 mins. That is long enough for someone to take off with my camera and us not be able to find it, and that is what happend. Then my husband was at one of the shows one night and he was told to come back for a prize he had won. They told him to come back the last day of the cruise and they would give it to him.Well we did the night before we returned to our port of call and searched for the person and your staff informed us they were off duty and no where to be found. That is what we got all day. We were not happy. His prize was supposed to be a Del Sol prize package, which we were looking forward to. Instead the last day before getting off the ship we went to the relations desk and told them the exact thing I'm typing and they gave us a royal carrinean hat and pen. I was very angry with the service and Unless we are proven otherwise that Royal Carribean is a great cruise line, we will not recommend this cruise line to anyone. Thank you so much!

First Time Cruisers by LynnA40953242

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

When we entered the ship, I was so amazed at the way the ship was taken care of. It was beautiful. Everyone that worked for the cruiseline treated us so special. We've never been on a cruise but highly recommend everyone to go and we will definately recommend Enchantment of the Sea to everyone we know. I can't say enough about the people working for the cruiseline. They made our first time cruise a memory of a life time. Thanks again for everything and hope to see you again soon.

Fantastic experience! by Williamr11

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This being our first cruise, the ship met and exceeded all my expectations. We had an outside state room on deck 3 and I thought the "picture window" for the head board of our bed was outstanding. It was great to see the various ports come into view by daylight or night with all the lights. Fantastic!

Good, Could do better by BinaS

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Very good experience Destination: Caribbean - Western Sailing date: 07-2009 Pros:New features are beautiful, it's like a brand new ship!I last sailed on it in yr. 2000 Cons:Poor communication amongst catering staff in intially meeting my dietary needs. We recently sailed on the Enchantment of the Seas, our third cruise with Royal Caribean. We do like Royal Caribbean's style, service, and entertainment. We loved the evening dining. I feel that the restaurant staff did not communicate amonsgt each effectively regarding my needs. I had spoken to seven people before my concerns were heard and needs met. I even went to see the Maitre'D at 3pm on the first day and he reassured me that he would take care of it.For the first 3 days on the ship I had to explain my dietary needs to all concerned. I even sent an email to you regarding my needs and was advised to see the Maitre'D, which I did. In the email I was advised not to eat in the Windjammer because of cross-contamination issues. However, I could not eat lunch in the My Fair dining room because it was closed. I was surprised that you game me this advise when you should have known that this was going to be the case. Anyway, after the mnanager Sayit S realized I was very upset he called Chef Nitin to talk to me. Chef Nitin was extremely helpful and he definitely exceeded my expectations and catered for all my dietry needs. My suggetions for going forward would be that Roayl Caribean takes people's dietary needs seriously. someone should sit with the guest on the first day and take recommendations and offer suggestions. All staff should be made aware of this very important issue. Good food is what makes a good holiday. Royal Caribean may also need to look at the vegetarian and Indian choices that it offers, particularly for it's nutritional content, especialy protein.Overall we have to say the ship was impressive, some staff were wonderful, however most staff appeared tired and sad and lacked motivation and drive. There was a stark difference between the level of service we experienced in 2009 to the service we received in 2000. Year 2000 was better. I hope this helps and that I can continue to recommend RC to my friends. Thanks Bina Selli
