Disney Wonder with a toddler by ToddlerMom

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Wonder / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We took our two year old on this cruise for his birthday, he loves Disney Junior especially Mickey Mouse! We did character meet and greets, breakfast with a Disney Junior, participated in several crafts, visited the lab and club during open house and played in the splash pad. We watched a lot of movies on the outdoor screen, that was really fun!!

Overall, we truly enjoyed the cruise. The ports were awesome and probably our favorite part of the vacation. Almost every employee we encountered seemed to truly enjoy their job and were friendly. We took our cruise in December and I loved that the boat was decorated for Christmas and that there were Christmas activities like Gingerbread house building.

I was was slightly disappointed with the lack of space/activities for my son's age  group. The splash pad is small and enclosed, the crafts for his age group is limited and I would HIGHLY suggest a toddler room with toys available during everyday of the cruise. We only used the nursery once for two hours, we spent a lot of time with our son and it would have been nice to have more activities and crafts available.

Entertainment great, too many lines by kenamayfieldsos

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Wonder / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Disney Wonder has delicious food, fantastic entertainment and friendly staff. There are just two incidents that kept me from reviewing the trip higher. One is that there was a lot of waiting. At certain times there were long lines at breakfast lasting about 20 minutes or so. For popular activities, we waited in many lines. For our excursions, two out of three times, we waited in lines more than an hour late for our excursion to depart. Families do not like lines, so that could be improved upon.  I also want to make a note of how my son's retractable light saber was taken from us at the port as a prohibited item and my stateroom was taken, yet three days later, I see other kids have the exact same item and said they bought it on the ship. So basically, I started the cruise with a crying child whose toy should not have been taken at all. If an item is prohibited it should not be sold by Disney on board.

I would return on this cruise some time in the future.

Panama Canal trip by corrigandiana

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Disney Wonder / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

we did enjoy going on the Disney Panama Canal trip.  I will say I was worried since it was a Disney cruise but ended up not very many children on the cruise after all. They are bad about pushing future cruises or their vacation club along with souvenirs such as pictures.  you could not decide what size picture you wanted.  All were 8x10 and cost $22 each.

My first experience with Disney Cruise by genniefn

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Disney Wonder / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

I bought this cruise because it was going through the Panama Canal.  I did not know that this would be the LAST time A Disney ship would be going through the original canal.  From now on, all Disney ships will be going through the New Panama Canal.  This fact is what made this cruise even more special to us.

Also, this would be Disney Wonder's last trip before going to dry dock in Barcelona for updating and refurbishment.  This meant that this was the most outdated ship in Disney cruise line.  This also explains why doe areas of the ship looked tired and worn.  Some passengers report that tile was starting to lift in the bathrooms.

Many of the props backstage had already been wrapped and secured in preparation for drydocking...so most passenger felt that the entertainment for this particular cruise was sub-par.  (We couldn't tell because this was our first Disney cruise)

Other than that, we have no complaints about our cruise.

Disney Cruise-Alaska 2016 by MickeyWhitehurs

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Disney Wonder / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

The staff was very friendly and very helpful. The adult activities were really good. There was a good variety of foods and buffet. The served dinner at night was maybe a bit to fancy, and you did not always know exactly what you were ordering.  It was very clean and there were people always cleaning.  Rooms were nice and well kept. We did not have any young children, so never learned much about the activities for them.

Disney Cruise with grandkids by terrle1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Wonder / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

The Grandkids, LOVED the cruise.  They enjoyed the fun things to do, the food and seeing Alaska.

The Grandparents LOVED the cruise also.  It was great to know the kids were safe and having fun.  They went above and beyond to keep them safe in the restaurants as they both have severe food allergies.

Disney makes a point of making sure their employees are all friendly and helpful to all the guests.  I did not encounter even one staff member that wasn't outgoing, friendly and helpful.  The cruise is extremely efficient in getting people on and off in ports.  No long lines - ever.

My only complaint was (that since it is very expensive and I choose to take an inside cabin) the noise was bothersome when trying to sleep.  I think it was due to the water pipes or other ship mechanisms working near our room.

Disney Wonder Alaska-June 2016 by carynrivera

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Disney Wonder / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Let me start out by saying the staff was amazing, they kept everything nice and clean, and always greeted you with a smile no matter where you were.  The ship itself was a good size, even though it carries so many passengers, there were times you could still find an isolated location to just admire the beauty outdoor as we sailed.  The food was great in the evenings, it helped that our servers were well knowledgeable in regards to what to recommend.  They never steered me wrong.  I did notice that the majority of cruises were not aware of dress codes, for formal nights or semi-formal nights.  That might be something that needs to be told to cruises when booking.  I only found out because I have had that happen to me in a past cruise, and it does make you feel uncomfortable when dinning on those days.  As for the activities, at first I was a little concerned since my children are in their teens, I wasn't sure if they would find things to do.  But my 13 year old had a great time at the Edge and made new friend who he is still in contact with.  As for my 16 year old, he was not that interested in the activities at the Vibe (all these are assigned clubs by age).  Although I do have to say they did have some great shows that we were all able to see as a family.  I would have preferred to have more activities that would let both boys interact with the family, kind of like a middle tier for kids 12 and up.  The activities were more at a level for little kids 10 and under with their family members.  That didn't stop us from participating and having fun, it's Disney after all.  Overall it was a great experience with fantastic weather.

A "WONDER"ful Alaskan Cruise on the Disney Wonder by Cruiser295

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Disney Wonder / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Alaska's majestic mountains, glaciers, and  waterfalls were spectacular. The untamed wilderness provides an opportunity to see nature at its best...whales, sea lions, seals, eagles, etc. The Disney Wonder provided EVERYTHING that was needed but was exemplary in hospitality and service. The Disney clubs were a hit with our children from ages 3-21 as well as the Disney characters. With our large group (29), there were problems with our Disney cards. The photography shop onboard was disappointing. We had trouble accessing our photos even though photos were selected and placed in our carts.

Family fun in a beautiful place! by deniselsnider

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Wonder / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

The staff was truly excellent. Very friendly and always helpful. The ship was super clean and lots of activities on board. Being in Alaska you can't take advantage of the pools on ship but there are other activities and movies being played constantly all day. We had our 15 month old with us. He went to the nursery throughout the week but it was hard at night to make it to all the shows because he needed to be in bed. I think the ideal age to bring kids would start around 3 years old where they can be part of the kids club. All in all wonderful family experience!

Disney Does It Right by LNeuge

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Disney Wonder / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

The evening stage shows were fabulous! There were also many opportunities to see the newest Disney movies (4!), magicians, comedians, and participate in or watch live game shows. The port towns in Alaska are tiny, so when the ship is docked for 8 or 12 hrs, I was very glad we had signed up for excursions AND that we were allowed to go on and off the ship as we pleased. There were so many good meal options that I didn't want to miss a dinner on board. Bring your expandable pants!!! Tracy Arm was too heavy with ice so we went down Endicott Arm for our glacier viewing experience. That's when I most appreciated our room balcony because the decks topside were crazy crowded. The only other place that ever felt crowded was the Beach Blanket Buffet. We made a point of having breakfast and lunch at Triton's (table service) or Parrot Cay (excellent buffet). Also, there is no extra charge for the character breakfast, so schedule it early on. We waited several days and got one of the last slots available.

Worst Vacation Ever by MikeFromVA

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Wonder / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Hundreds of passengers and crew were sick with the norovirus and food poisoning by the end of day two.  Disney used to be meticulous at cleaning and disinfecting if an outbreak occurred on a ship-- not anymore-- so the virus spread like wildfire across the ship.  Our entire family did not leave the ship in Nassau because we were all down with the virus.  By the last day, many of the hallways and cabins had sewage smell because so many people were sick and the plumbing was being overwhelmed.

We did manage to have three meals together as a family before we all got sick.  One of the main reasons we are return Disney Cruise guests is because of the food.  The food used to be great-- something you would tell your friends about.  Now, the food is mediocre at best (a couple steps above the mall food court).

Bottomline-- the Disney Cruise Line used to be great.  Definitely not worth your hard earned money.

Review of Disney Wonder trip by Cruiser708

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Wonder / Destination: Caribbean - Western

It was a really fun vacation as planned by Kathy at Dream Vacations.  We had a budget, we had a timeline and she delivered.  She made it simple for us.  Disney Cruise delivers so much on so many levels.  It's such a rare feeling to actually feel like you got your money's worth for something these days.  Disney gives you that feeling.  They put so much detail in to everything.  Just. Wow.

Disney wonder 5 night carribean cruise by traciaber7

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Wonder / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I will start with the positives of this trip because it was incredibly memorable! We loved all of the food, didn't matter which restaurant or which poolside bar it came from every piece or food and/or drink was top notch! The service we had was outstanding, from cruise members giving direction, to room service to maid service! Outstanding!!!! I took my 12 yr old for her birthday and we both had an excellent time. Areas I think could be improved, all the pools with the exception of the adult pool were very very small! Wasn't much for the kids over 10 to really enjoy in that aspect. Also, we needed to purchase additional long sleeved attire to wear while inside of the ship! Seemed like every time we were inside we were freezing!

Disney Wonderful by jeromed

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Wonder / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Everything was wonderful. Service was great - had special needs because

of physical disability. Staff on Disney Wonder went beyond to assist my

family and I in every way. Wish we had more time to do all activities on a

4 day cruise. Food outstanding. Any and all of our requests were fulfilled.

Just ask! Our family would have been OK with two days on Castaway.

The wind canceled a few of the excursions.

All in All Disney Wonderful.

Spring Break Cruise with Family by rlamantia

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Wonder / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We had a great time. The food was excellent the service, the shows were top notch. The only problem that we had was my younger daughter Jessica, could not put her little one in the day care due to him having to wear underwear. He is potty trained, but occasionally has an accident. So he still wears pull ups. She did not bring underwear with her just the pull ups and the Disney Store did not have size 2 Toddler underwear only 4 T, which was too big.  So he could not go in the nursery. So she did not get any adult time with her husband like she had planned on. The only other complaint was the size of the kids pools. She also could not take him in the kids pool for the same reason. so he was only able to go into that splash pool. So since she could not go into the adult pool because she couldn't put him into the day care she did not enjoy the pool part during the day. Which was not fun for her or the little one.

It was everything we expected it to be and more! by holldoll777

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Wonder / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I've been dreaming of going on a Disney cruise for 15 years and this lived up to every expectation. There was SO much for my kids to do (4 & 7) that they didn't go to bed until after midnight every night (that's not normally allowed at home). We enjoyed the adult only pool area while they were in the kids clubs. We had a great time as a family. The food was great! Castaway Cay was BEAUTIFUL! We rented the bikes and took a bike ride which the kids loved. The Wonder is Disney's oldest ship and hasn't been refurbished. You could tell in the carpets, but everything else looked great. They will be refurbishing it this fall and we can't wait to get back on it in Sept 2017 for the Panama Canal cruise!
