Get to Bayonne early or you may have to park a distance away. The guarantee on the parking garage isn't worth much.
Also be prepared to wait. Checking in to the ship is inordinately long. They don't have enough personnel to support a problem and everything backs up.That's the ships fault. Disembarkation is a mess and that's the government's fault plus not enough pressure from Celebrity to get their act together. There are 20 customs desks at exit and only 4 were manned - Ridiculous!. So ridiculous one suspects it's probably caused by an action by Trump reducing customs officials.
Get ready for great fun, delicious food and pampering from the staff. You will not be disappointed. Captain Alex and his staff is out and about interacting with the quests.
1. Take advantage of the shows.
2. Claim a spot at the pool EARLY each day or else you'll likely be left chairless.
3. The Sunset Bar is a great location. It's never crowded and the view is spectacular.
4. If you're cruising with kids, the buffet is the way to go. The selection is terrific and it just has a "family friendly" atmosphere.
There is never enough seating at either pool. It was always difficult to find a chair and so many people save chairs and then don't sit there. I did see staff trying to make chairs available when there was nobody to return to the seats.
If a pArty of 2 traveling, don't expect to sit at a table inside the dining room, without a long wait, and don't believe for one minute they take a reservation for 2.
Be prepared to sit in the hallway of the dining room with lots of traffic.
A small fan would have been great to have.
The only complaints I have are that people were drinking to excess and kids ran free without any accountability. No one said anything to reprimand them. Even when one kid threw a plastic glass up through the floors by the elevators as I was looking down and almost hit me in the face! An employee was there and picked up the glass and just smiled and walked away!!!
Enjoy your stay without comparing to other cruise ships. The staff tries to do everything in their power to be helpful and make your stay enjoyable. If you like to have alcoholic beverages and don't want the beverage package you are allowed to bring two bottles of wine/champagne, per cabin, to be consumed in your stateroom.
Bring the little hacks that will make your stateroom more livable like magnetic hooks and hanging storage bins. Don't bring too many clothes or shoes or you'll be tripping over them. Do see every show you can as the entertainment is top notch.
Be sure to check out the rooftop terrace. It's a great place to check out a movie. For peace and quiet, the very front of the ship deck is away from the noise.
It was definitely worth the extra money to sell Aqua class. It was an awesome experience especially for a first cruise it gave me a really nice cross-section of what cruising could be. I would sell Aqua class again in a heartbeat.
Bring playing cards and perhaps a backgammon board or some sort of game you can play when you can't find anything on the cruise agenda to keep you busy.
Balconies are narrow so you will not be able to lounge out there unless you have a Royal Suite or higher accommodation. Push the button in very hard when you try to flush the toilet or it will not flush properly.
