Review summary

This was a very fun and at the same time relaxing cruise. There were more elderly folks than I had expected and they were great fun. Met lots of nice folks at dinner, great conversations. The highlight for me was the martini bar. Those guys really put on a great show and the drinks are delicious!

Embarkation

This is my favorite port and it is even better with the new parking garage. Everything about it is easy and the staff is very helpful if you have any questions. I've taken several cruises out of this port and never had to wait on a long line. This time we practically walked right onboard. I thought maybe I had the dates wrong!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
I stick with the main dining room and buffets. This was my 2nd celebrity cruise and the food was the highlight of my first and did not disappoint on this one. Everything was good and there was virtually no wait.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The fitness center was immaculate and the equipment was up to date which was nice. Unfortunately I had a little sea sickness and couldn't fully enjoy it but I tried. The pools and hot tubs were not always full of kids so I did get to enjoy them, unlike previous cruises I've been on.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
I caught part of one of the stage shows and it was excellent. Very talented folks on this cruise.

Children's Programs

no kids

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The service was excellent and so was the staff. Our stewardess Philomena was great. Very friendly, great smile and always checking on our needs. she would even let us know when she was going on break to see if we needed anything first. Randy from the cosmopolitan dining room was our primary waiter and he was fantastic; very attentive and great recommendations. Couldn't ask for a better dining experience.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Most ships I've been on are laid out like this one, though this one seems smaller. The décor is kind of bland but the ship is very clean and well-maintained. I was on this ship back in 2011 and I remember the décor was a bit nicer.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
This room was fine for the most part. Very small but I knew what to expect. Loved the linens and the room was very clean. The only issue was that my sisters bed was slanted on one side and she felt like she was going to roll off. We should have mentioned it but she made do.

Ship tip

Be sure to check out the rooftop terrace. It's a great place to check out a movie. For peace and quiet, the very front of the ship deck is away from the noise.

Ports of call

Cape Liberty (Bayonne), New Jersey Did not visit port

King's Wharf, Bermuda

5 out of 5
I love cruising to Bermuda! This was my fourth time there and I would go again and again. There's enough to do at the port itself with shopping at the clock tower mall, visiting the rum cake and glass factories and this time I visited the museum and got up close to the dolphins at Dolphin Quest.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
This is my least favorite part just because this is when you see how many people were on your cruise and it takes some time to get off. If you travel light, you can self disembark early and I would recommend that. Even with the crowd, it only takes a couple of hours so it's really not awful.
