Review summary

I will definitely do this itinerary again. Although I've been on the summit and her sister ship constellation many times before, it's been several years and I was concerned about her age. No worries. It was a waste experience!

Embarkation

4 out of 5
The port is very busy but celebrity does a great job moving the people through.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Main dining room was great. Overall, the food was very good and so was the service. The specialty dining venues could use some improvement. My filet was overcooked in Tuscan. This was my 2nd disappointment with them so I'll not be going back. Qsine was very good. Buffet food was pretty bad. But that's the case with most all buffets.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Went to a couple of the port talks and a cooking class. Not really a lot to do and the things I was interested in, wasn't offered at a time that worked for us.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Best entertainment I've seen since the glory days of cruising. I was pleasantly surprised!

Children's Programs

Didn't have kids

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Every one on the ship was very courteous. The majority seemed happy and genuinely pleased to help with any little thing. The sole exception was the guys at the martini bar that were very unfriendly. Out of 20 plus cruises, this is the first time I've ever encountered that.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
It's an old ship and it needs updating but it's very clean and the space is adequate. My number one complaint is the lack of an excercise track. Well, they do have one but it's very small and wholly inadequate for the number of people who use it. I'm not sure why they don't expand it to go all around the ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The room was clean. The storage is pretty limited for a 2 week cruise and there are no self service laundry facilities so guests are forceful to send out laundry. I don't trust them with anything good so I just send out my work out clothes.

Ship tip

Bring the little hacks that will make your stateroom more livable like magnetic hooks and hanging storage bins. Don't bring too many clothes or shoes or you'll be tripping over them. Do see every show you can as the entertainment is top notch.

Took a tour but wish we'd stayed in town.

Portland, Maine

Enjoyed walking around town. Portland Lobster Co had really good lobster lunch. Try the Holy Donut. Really tasty!

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
It's always a bit chaotic but celebrity does a much better job than most.

I also did the Summit to Bermuda. Very enjoyable with nothing but praise for the staff.
