Millenium Quality Has Slipped by KimW5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Millennium / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

This ship is showing it's age. In most venues, there were machines out of order (health club & dining areas), tiles missing from the locker room, etc. Needs an overhaul.

It could be better! by BobR2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Millennium / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

All the beverage are extra, even the Soda at lunch and dinner. the complimentary coffee is not a good quality and most of the time the coffee and water dispensing machines were out of service. definitely the food can be improved and even the wine list by the glass was mediocre, lot of sommeliers but not great wines to taste by the glass. The Entertainment especially the shows were very, very poor and at the Cosmos none was there.

A good experience by RaghuK

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Millennium / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

The ship was good on the whole, but at places it shows age - the tiling in the bathrooms were broken. Though retroffited, the ship does show its age.

alaska cruise by JudiA1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Millennium / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

How can one go wrong on a cruise to an amazing part of the world? The only surprise was that the food was underpar compared with other cruises I've been on. The rooms were great, service good, and the landscape spectacular!

North to Alaska by GayleP

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Millennium / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

The Millenium staff were super. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with champagne and welcome. Lots of things to do on ship. Some excellent evening entertainment. The naturalist was excellent -- so many scientific facts at his fingertips, and able to extend his knowledge to us lay people very effectively. Many excellent offerings for the excursions, although we thought they were priced too high.

Excellent Cruise - Outstanding Value by DanielL1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Millennium / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

The ship was very clean and well planned. Activities were good, but mostly tailored to an older crowd. (Which was appropriate given the age of most passengers) The food was very, very good although they only had buffet for lunches. (I would prefer a served Lunch option)

An experience of a lifetime! by EllenC1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Millennium / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

I traveled alone on this trip, which I've done before, but immediately felt that I was accompanied by 1900 of my close friends. The ship staff was extremely accomodating, but not to the extent that I felt that they were in the way. Every day my new friends and I felt that we were the luckiest people on earth to be in these ports and on the ship. One area that was frustrating was the check in process. After long travels to the embarkation point the process was extremely disorganized and I could still be waiting to board had I not marched through the chaos to take action to get through it. However after that, the organization was good and the staff very responsive.

Celebrity Millenium in Alaska = Great by GaryH10

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Millennium / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

This cruise was the "transition" cruise from the Caribbean to Alaska. We got on in San Diego and headed up! I am not used to being pampered so it took me a couple of days to get used to my little ninja stateroom attendant constantly cleaning my room. His name was Harry and he was on deck 6. He and Manuel were the absolute best, there were a couple of days we slept in and were not disturbed and other days we were out by 6 am. No matter what time we left our little ninja's would have the room clean within 30 minutes. It was great. We also hung out with two pool bartenders named Edwin and Michael. The wife and I were smart enough to purchase the drink package and Edwin / Michael helped us use it up! The wife and I both visited the spa a couple of times just to have some fun. I didn't like the way I would go in for a massage and they tried to sell me an additional $100 in products. I consider myself a smart man but they also had some type of system and would give 20% off or 30% off yet it was still more than what I thought I was supposed to pay. I didn't like the feeling of being in a used car salesman's office while I was trying to get a massage. My wife however loved a couple of the girls in the spa so I'm not badmouthing them at all; they're just doing their job. The activities around the ship were more catered to an older crowd but I knew that going into it as it was not yet summer, was 14 days and 90% of the passengers are the retired older crowd. I'm a guy who is mid 30's yet still stuck in the 80's and many of the nightly shows I absolutely loved. We had some great comedians as well as musical shows. After we would head to the nightclub where we would dance the night away to a great band. A couple of days we went shopping, saw one of the free movies (new releases by the way) or just lounged in the indoor salt water pool. All in all I would highly recommend going on this adult cruise, but it's not a party boat. If you want the party I hear the Carnival has a bunch of neon and fluff.

Wow! What a cruise! by SteveD4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Millennium / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Wonderful ship and crew. Exceptionally well maintained and outstandingly clean! The crew, entertainers/entertainment/naturalist lecturers were all friendly, knowledgible, personable and professional. Food was very good, but not great in that the meals in the main dining room generally were covered with too many/much sauce(s).

Best trip EVER!!! by KellyH1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Celebrity Millennium / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

The ship was very well kept. You could see some wear, but it was clean and orderly. There was plenty to do on at sea days. I never got bored. The staff was so helpful and friendly. They gave tips on when to get good deals on ship merchandise and helped us any way they could.

Wonderful service and fun events. by CynthiaB4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Millennium / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

I have Celiac disease and found the assistance from the waiters and maitre d' really wonderful. The food all over the ship was delicious! I never got sick at all during the trip. The musical groups were just great and fit with my age group wonderfully (65+). The therapy pool was just heavenly. For my first trip to Alaska, the ports were really a beautiful sample of this great State.
