Make sure you really research the ports of call. The port for Rome is an hour away from the city. We spent all day miserably getting to and from, not even seeing Rome itself.

Definite sign up the spa access.

The Edge was not designed for young children, specifically, although there was a small “kids camp” and activities for them. The ship catered more to adults, which fits our demographic perfectly. When our children were young, we cruised with Royal Caribbean several times, and it was great.

Scout/Explore the ship first day and use the online app to remind about activities
lovetocruisenc
Just relax and enjoy the ship

I will probably shy away from this style of ship due to crowds although great service and had awesome entertainment director due to ship layout

If you book with an outside travel agent, do NOT book your flight through Celebrity. They cancelled our entire reservation due to "lack of payment" because we weren't billed for the flight that we booked on their website.
Geepeejay
Have a walk over the entire ship. Even on day 5, I was finding little nooks and artwork. I would probably opt for fixed time dining next time. If you are not on a tour and you don't queue for port debarkation tickets, you may have to wait, quite a while to get off the ship in port. In my viw one of the poorer attempts at this type of management. And finally, book your add-ons before sailing.

Realize that there are several tendered ports that impact the amount of time you have available to tour

Give some thought to the drink package you buy, or if you buy one at all. We don't drink a lot of adult beverages, and felt not buying a drink package was the more cost efficient.

Get ready for some nickel and dimming especially when seeking internet service.

Try out some of the specialty restaurant venues as an alternative to the decent food offered at the complimentary restaurant and buffet venues.
mdcatdad
bring your own soft drinks; they charge $5 for a can of Coke

Do not get the aqua class unless you have time set aside to use it plenty
SteveMBA
Go with standard dining and order from any menu. Wait staff takes good care of you from day one. I didn’t see a need for any of the specialty dining.
Poncholaurie
Upgrade drink and internet package before you sail. All they want to do is sell you upgrades. It’s a Royal Caribbean thing. (Nickel and dime)

Sit and relax on the Magic Carpet--the best place on the ship!

Enjoy the beauty of this luxury liner, savor the restaurants. Specially restaurants though over priced not worth it to me.

Be prepared for a $13 bottle of beer
