Review summary

Great cruise which could have been greater with an itinerary that involved more stops and less days at sea. It was a 10 day cruise essentially that included 5 days at sea which we felt was excessive. The design of the ship and the activities offered as well as the exceptional shopping did more the sea days more enjoyable than usual however.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Port of Sydney personnel very efficient despite some technical issues on the part of Celebrity while boarding the ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Main dining rooms and buffets offered decent food options, the specialty restaurants stepped up the quality a couple of notches.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Nice pool venue and well equipped gym and a state of the art theatre providing an exceptional facility for the late night show options.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The evening stage shows some of the best we have ever experienced on a cruise ship. The group of Celebrity performers and Celebrity musicians were top notch in particular.

Children's Programs

Did not travel with children.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All the ship personnel did their best to attend to the passengers needs as efficiently and professionally as possible.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Ship was well designed and spotless. With the exception of embarking on a couple of tender ports, for the rest it never felt like we were cruising with 2900-3000 other passengers due to the ships design.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cabins were well laid out, with a spacious shower, adequate storage facilities, and a clever infinite veranda concept allowing the flexibility of using the veranda area as an outside space when lowering the wall to wall, ceiling to floor window, and as a living are when the window was closed providing a cabin with an additional 50 square feet or so of heated space.

Ship tip

Try out some of the specialty restaurant venues as an alternative to the decent food offered at the complimentary restaurant and buffet venues.

Ports of call

Sydney, Australia

5 out of 5
Did a hop on hop off, tremendously clean and beautiful city with friendly and efficient people.

Airlie Beach, Queensland, Australia

4 out of 5
Barely visited this venue as the rain was non stop unfortunately.

Cairns, Australia

4 out of 5
Okay city, excursions to the Great Barrier Reef and the Kuranda Village with its cable car and waterfalls the way to go.

Port Douglas, Australia

5 out of 5
Daintree rainforest and Mossman gorge impressive despite the fact that area had tremendous flooding months earlier closing some roads and shutting down the railroad.

Cruise Willis Island, Australia

3 out of 5
A small island we cruised by witnessing the launch of a weather balloon I felt is time and distance that could have been better spent visiting another port.

Brisbane, Australia

5 out of 5
Impressive city vigorously getting prepared already for the 2032 Olympics.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We opted for the “get off on your own” option where you disembark with your luggage fairly early on allowing us to get off the ship with nolines and no waiting
