Review summary

We had a lot of problems with immigration in India. Took two hours in both Indian stops, and I will never go there again. It was very dirty. Sri Lanka was very nice. Had a great time there. We’d like to spend more time there. Phuket was very nice. Would like to spend more time there. Had a great crew. The ship was clean the only problem with the ship. It seems like they have a lot of people on here, and not very many common areas always packed in the common areas hard to get a cuppa coffee in the morning the Buffet was always packed. I have been on over 20 celebrity cruises and this is the crowded list I’ve ever seen a ship. It seems like they cut down on the common areas when they built this ship. Most of the chairs were hard to sit in. The Eden is a perfect example of this the club, which they do a lot of their entertainment activities, and the seats are all uncomfortable in there. Also, they also had partitions which makes it hard to see it less. You’re in it just a couple of certain areas. Very poor design. All in all I would probably avoid this ship again unless it’s going somewhere I really really want to go to.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Main dining rooms good buffet good

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The ship has little to offer as far as activities go but the cruise entertainment staff did a lot to keep us busy. Trivia archery yoga erc

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Production shows ok some guest entertainment was pretty good some not so

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Staff friendly and helpful except for guest services which didn’t put out timely announcements and information

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Too small for amount of people on here. Having done over. 20 celebrity cruises on their other classes I would try to avoid this class. Common areas seem smaller and always packed. Most seating in area is very uncomfortable. Looks good on paper but not much practicality. Eden is a perfect example of this. Pool is elevated so if not sitting right next to it you can’t see it.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Nice and great service enjoy the infinite veranda

Ship tip

I will probably shy away from this style of ship due to crowds although great service and had awesome entertainment director due to ship layout

Agree with your opinion that Edge class ships are uncomfortable in public areas, which is unfortunate. We won't be sailing that class again. Indian authorities seemed intent on making it difficult to enter and move around in their country, even though we managed to negotiate the lengthy process to procure Indian visas in advance of our visit. They repeatedly and unnecessarily stamped our large US passports so many times, even though our passports are valid until late 2026, we have to renew now because we have only one blank page left. Visited 2 ports, and 2 airports, spent 4 nights on land, saw Taj Mahal, done with India. Got the full cultural experience. If planning visit, make sure you have the large passport. You will need it. Thanks for your detailed review. We visited many of the same ports as you. Great itinerary. Sorry you had issues.
