Review summary

For our first cruise, this one was okay. But if we go on another, it won't be with Celebrity. We need a younger crowd, better food, and more activities. Also, I don't think we'd do Europe again. Maybe the Caribbean.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Pretty easy. First cruise so I'm not sure what to compare it to.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The main dining and buffet were pretty meh. Very meat and grease-heavy. Not a lot of healthy options. Lots of repeats. No creative options for vegetarians. Didn't bother with the specialty restaurants as they cost extra (and costs were ridiculous).

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
One outdoor pool and two hot tubs for 2,000+ passengers. Gross. Fitness Center and Spa need improvement. No other activities to speak of.

Entertainment

2 out of 5
Felt like we were staying at the resort in the movie Dirty Dancing.

Children's Programs

I didn't have kids with me.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Great staff and excellent service.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Very clean ship for the most part.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Good size cabin and very comfortable.

Ship tip

Make sure you really research the ports of call. The port for Rome is an hour away from the city. We spent all day miserably getting to and from, not even seeing Rome itself.

Ports of call

Barcelona, Spain

Disembarkation

Nothing to compare it to. Very easy.

You booked the wrong cruise line. I have been cruising 50+ years and the 1st priority is finding the proper cruise line for your family. Young adults with children should stay away from Celebrity, Holland America, Cunard and Viking. You should consider MSC, Carnivale, Princess and I highly recommend Royal Caribbean. You where on one of the better Cruise Lines (Edge) for food. Cruise lines do not cater to vegetarians but do have small amount of vegetarian dishes. One of the most important aspect of cruising is the service and food along with the itinerary. If you want to eat healthy stay away from cruising everybody gains a few pounds.

Thanks for your review. Consider Alaskan or Caribbean cruises. Us old people sail when the kids are in school😂

Welcome to the wonderful world of cruising. Glad you are open to trying another cruise. You now have a basic understanding of how it all works. Do a little research and you’ll find what you are looking for.

We were on the Edge in Europe in July 2023; a cruise full of young people. Too many teens/children and nothing to do for them. So it depends on the time of the year.

Carnival has the younger crowd, but then personally, I would stay away from carnival during the summertime because it is always crowded with youngsters. I'm so happy there are lots of cruise lines to pick from, but I'm just giving you your crowd aspect. Happy Cruising..
