You're not asked to dress up each night. Only one elegant night, unfortunately. Just pack lots of casual clothes. I prefer the dress-up for the Dining Room. The dining room is so elegant.

If you drink alcoholic beverages, the Cheers! package is definitely a must. Drinks get expensive, and even if just getting a few a day pay for it.

It was a great experience, however, if you have special needs it is probably not the boat to sail on.

we were walking over 14000 fitbit steps daily, but still sat around way too much. we don't drink alcohol, which seems to be a prerequisite for avid cruisers. everything is paid through your ship card so it's easy to loose track of additional expenses. check the kiosk daily if you need to watch the bottom line.

Be prepared to see lots of zebra printed pink polka dots all over the park. It can come as a shock at first, but after a while, you'll stop noticing it as much.

Too many kids, the smoking on the boat was gross and made it hard to enjoy most of the activities. the buffet servers are rude, and the customer service at the excursion desk was great. The buffet servers made you really want to cuss them out but I held my peace because I'm a minister and had to maintain myself as a child of GOD but because of the servers, I will not go on another Carnival Splendor cruise, not ever and I mean that.

Better stabilizers, too many hot zones on ship need better ac. Fun shops should have more of a selection for personal items. Designated smoke free room for casino, smoke free zone still filled with smoke from row next to you that smoked. Elevator doors were too fast for some of the elderly passengers.

Be aware that smoking is allowed in most of the casino and they have the photographers right near the casino so if you have photos taken prior to dinner your clothes and hair are going to smell like cigarettes the rest of the evening. They have a non-smoking area but smoke does not know to stay on one side so that is useless. You may want to bring your own hairdryer, although if you have a spa cabin, you can use the locker room facilities and there is a larger hair dryer and larger shower in there with a bench which was very nice. Booking a spa cabin is well worth it.
