Review summary

Overall the cruise was ok. There were several things we were not pleased with and because of them, it will affect the cruise line I choice in the future. The main disappointments was the "king size" bed the drink package and the cruise ports. The cruise ports that we went to were nice however those were not the cruise ports that I wanted to go too. I understand there was hurricanes but Carnival did nothing to compensate for the fact that we were going to all these other ports and we found out 3 days before leaving.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food was pretty good. The dinning room for late dining was excellent but the buffet was good. As for the drink package, I am very disappointed in this. For one I paid 800 for two drink packages and the problem is that there is a limit of 15 drinks. They're other cruises that don't have a drink limit. Not only do you have a drink limit but if you reach your drink limit you can't buy anymore alcohol. That's insane! You should just have the drink package as 105 drinks total. Instead of 15 per day, it should be 105 total and once you run out then your done. Some days you only have a couple and other days you want to drink more. When you start drinking at noon in the pool and drink throughout the day its very easy to get through 15 very quickly and not even be drunk. Definitely not pleased with this service.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Enjoyed having the pools and the mini golf. Did not enjoy the smoking in the casino. There should be no smoking in the casino or there should be another smoke free casino. ITS BAD FOR YOUR HEALTH AND I DON'T ENJOY BREATHING IT IN!

Entertainment

3 out of 5
I thought the entertainment was very good. Loved having the adult comedy shows twice a night!! We went to just about all of them! Also enjoyed the movie nights on the deck. However, don't think its fair to charge to watch movies in the room. I pay thousands of dollars to go on this cruise. The movies should be free.

Children's Programs

Did not bring children with us

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff was excellent. The dinning staff we have was Buana, I Gede, and Than in the late dining at 8:15 and they were amazing!! They were excellent servers and I really enjoyed having them. All three of them gave amazing service! The bartender Woralak was amazing as well. She did a great job and she was very personal and welcoming. She did a great job and we really enjoyed having her as as bartender. All four of these staff members made our vacation very enjoyable and all the more memorable!

Ship Quality

I thought the ship was very clean and maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

We were overall very pleased with the cleanliness of the cabin and Made was a great staff member. He was very friendly and he always took care of us when we needed something. He kept our room nice and clean and he made our staff very enjoyable. The main thing I have a problem with is sleeping. It was very very very uncomfortable to sleep in a "king size " bed that wasn't really a king size bed. They were two twin beds that were pushed together. It was very uncomfortable to get up several times during the nights and move the beds together, It was also uncomfortable because the bed sheets were not fitted so they were constantly coming off. For this reason I am now looking into other cruise lines because I was very displeased with this service after all the money we paid. Was also not thrilled with the temperature in the room. It was on the coldest all the time and it wasn't very cold.

Ship tip

DON'T GET A KING SIZE BED

I mean who drinks 15 drinks in one day?!!

ctav    7 years ago

Our cruise missed Grand Turk due to the damaged and I received $16.25 a person for it. That's the cost per passenger to port there and it was applied to my Sail And Sign card.

105 drinks in seven days? Just take a booze cruise if that's one of your issues.

What do you expect. It was a hurricane and the islands are destroyed. The cruise line did there job and found alternative ports.

1ttat1    7 years ago

I'm sure the hurricane devastated ports would like for you to come there.
