Loved the cruise. Besides problems at embarkation, customs at debarkation, and lousy internet connections, overall a good time. Wished we could have had dinner in the Specialty dining room, but hopefully my recommendation for reminding cruisers of their reservations will be taken under consideration.
Embarkation
2 out of 5
Embarkation kinda sucked. We were Priority Passengers, when we got there there were no signs to any Priority Line. We waited in line with the rest of the passengers for about 15 minutes when finally someone came out and led the Priority Passengers around the line to the Priority Line hidden far down around a corner. Needed better signage. Then after that, trying to get on the ship was a disaster as something happened to the computer connections. Had to wait in line again to get on the ship.

Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Food and drinks were excellent. Only problem was, we had reservations for the Specialty restaurant. We thought it was for Thursday night, but it was actually for Wednesday night. Every other cruise we've been on there has always been a reminder card put in our mailbox the day of the reservation. This time, none. They left a message on our cabin phone. We don't look at the cabin phone as we use our cells. We missed our reservation, and couldn't be accommodated any other night. Yes, the red light was on, on our phone, but it wasn't blinking so we just ignored it. PLEASE go back to putting a reminder card in guest's mailboxes.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Adult pool was great, but definitely needs to be bigger. There was music everywhere. Couldn't find a nice quiet spot to have a cocktail without music blasting. Just my opinion, but I don't think there needs to be music everywhere, all the time.
Service and Staff

All the staff were extremely pleasant.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Most areas were clean an well kept. As for the design - there needs to be water and ice stations outside by all the pools so swimmers don't have to get dressed to enter the dining room to re-fill there containers. Perhaps an ice cream station outside of the dining room. Another issue was the internet connections. They sucked, even at the ship's internet cafes. If men can be put on the Moon, Carnival should be able to have great internet connections on their ships. Went into the ports just to get a decent internet connection!
The process from the ship went smoothly. Then you get to customs. What a disaster. There were about 3000 people coming off a ship and there were two, maybe three agents working. REALLY???
Just got off the Splendor. Loved it! We thought the food in the dining room was great, also great service. Ship was clean and easy to get around. No complaints!
I got a reminder note for our stake house reservations. We tried to make it later and it was declined. We made it on tim, the place was empty, lots of spaces available and when we left 2 hours later, there was still plenty of places.
On phone, I used it once for room service and I then noticed there was a message but no instructions to access it.
Our paths crossed this day. You were boarding about the same time as we were disembarking in that very long line waiting on 2 customs officers for 3000 passengers. Two hours worth of waiting.
