We were looking for a relaxing cruise and after the Huricane we did expect port changes, we were pleasantly suprised by the changes Carnival did a good job with in a tough situation.
Embarkation
1 out of 5
This was one area that the both Port Everglades and Carnival completely dropped the ball. Passengers both priority and general boarding were kept in an outdoor line, fortunately we were under cover as it was raining the entire time. When the doors were finally opened to the boarding lounge no one knew what, where or how. It was cattle call herded through metal detectors, security staff shouting at people, and no one was in charge. Our luggage was tagged suite/guest, Faster to the fun we were supposed to have a lounge area where we could wait in comfort for the ship to board. Instead my wife and I stood in a massive line in the heat with no one to direct us. Needless to say by the time we got on the ship we were very much less than satisfied and very angry.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
After boarding the ship things seemed to get organized very quickly we were greeted by a very friendly and helpful staff. The food was better than expected as we have noticed a decline in food quality and quantity over the may years of sailing with Carnival. The Splendor lived up to it's name everything was done in a very professional manner with courtesy and Customer Service at the forefront.
Onboard Activities

We found the area's we used mostly Serinity very well kept and relaxing.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
These people know how to treat a customer, our room steward went out of her way and anticipated most of or wants and needs before we asked. Our interaction with guest services was prompt and professional. Have to give giant Kudos to the maintaiance staff, as we had trouble with our room safe and when called they came and fixed the problem immediately.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
One of a kind ship while a Conquest Class ship that's where it stops. This ship is decorated ornately, the paintings on the walls are from a bygone era of cruising. The dining rooms were opulent. The only thing we found a little awkward was the buffet on the Lido Deck. It has a real flow problem due to some of the arcitectural features.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Nothing to complain about here everything in order clean, comfortable.
