The crusie so far and we have been on fi by BethP5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Mexico

The ship was beautiful and very clean. It was a little over the top but thats what crusie ship decor is. The food was wonderful. We went with four couples and cruising i sperfect. You can do your thing in the day and meet for dinner ( Late seating) and discuss your day. I would leave tomorrow if possible.

So-So Cruise by CynthiaB3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Mexico

As indicative above, the service on the ship was poor in comparison to other ships and cruise lines. The decorations on the ship were not sophisticated, and the food wasn't particularly impressive. However, if your goal is simply to get away and relax for a week, and you don't particularly care to be treated like a king or queen, then this cruise is sufficient.

Below average cruise by WS1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Mexico

We have been on 5 other cruises and 5 other cruise lines. This was one of the least expensive cruises we've been on however and I guess the phrase you get what you pay for applies. The food on the buffet was really sub-par. The dining room food was average, and the service at our table was poor. We often had to leave our room in the evening so they could come in and make up the beds. All in all, it was just not what we were used to from the other cruise lines. If you want cheap and have never cruised with other cruise lines before, you will probably be impressed.

My First Cruise by PennyH98041556

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Mexico

We just completed our cruise on the Carnival Pride. What a wonderful experience. Neither my husband or myself had ever been on a cruise before. It was very exciting for us. The ship itself is beautiful. But the most important part was how the staff made us feel. Everyone was so friendly and professional. We felt like royalty. If it was in my power, I would give everybody a raise. I was also impressed by the fact that everyone (staff) was from different countries. It would be amaising if the rest of us could get along so well together. Having never been on a cruise before, I was impressed by the activities. You could find something to fit every mood & time of day or night. We stopped in three ports. We had fun in all three, but our favorite by far is Cabo San Lucas. It is beautiful. We have shared our positive experience with several of our friends and encouraged them to book a cruise. It is well worth it. We will certainly be cruising more in the future!

A few Snafu's but Still Great by DebbiL

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Mexico

We sailed the Pride Feb 4th thru the 11th, (Sun. - Sun.) We received a call Saturday evening advising us the ship would not be leaving port till the following day due to a mechanical problem. They gave us a customer service number to call and we finally got through. I'm sure everybody else was calling at the same time. We were told we could cancell and receive a full refund or sail on Monday, only hit two ports instead of three) and receive 15% off our cruise and a 50.00 p/person credit. Also they would pay up to $200.00 p/person to apply towards a hotel or airline flight change. We opted to go anyway, we stayed at the Doubletree in San Pedro (nice hotel) and wound up leaving port at 8:00 p.m. Monday night. Once that was over and done with, we decided not to let that ruin our vacation, we had a great time. The room steward kept our room immaculate and the entertainment was kind of fun. I saw alot of families, older couples and young people. A good cross section, we talked to another couple who was on the Princess and were in port the same time as us. They absolutely hated it, they said everyone was 65 or older. By the way, we are in our late 40's.

Just what the doctor ordered. by BrendaH5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Mexico

The staff was wonderful and very service oriented. I liked that they kept us informed about what was happening with the ship's repair and how they were dealing with the delay. I appreciated their conpensation for the day delay and missing port. I liked the variety and availability of the food. I enjoyed the Ports of Call and the shows on the ship, especially the ventroliquist and the fiddler.

The honeymoon We Were Looking For by DaynaC

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Mexico

This was our first trip on the Carnival Pride. It was relaxing, the food was awesome and the service was great. We really enjoyed ourselves on and off the boat. I only wish we had more time in Cabo San Lucas. The excursions offered are fairly priced.

Had a good time by RichardD8

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Mexico

I've been on atleast 8 cruises before and would prefer Royal Caribean over Carnival. So you are asking why I went on Carnival this time .I went on Carnival once before and figured to give it another chance. My wife is a school teacher and rates are alot higher on school vacations and Carnival had the best price I could afford at the time I received the best deal through Cruise only .

Carnival seems to be slipping a little.. by DavidD15

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Mexico

This is our second cruise on the Pride this year, obviously we liked the first cruise enough to do it again. The ship is well maintained and the crew is very attentive. The captain was less cordial then we have seen in the past but he may have been pre-occupied with weather concerns and was very brief.

The Best cruise every by Joseph3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Mexico

We sailed on the Carnival Pride for the second time, and all I can say is "Wow!". We knew the ship was beautiful, but we had no idea what to expect with cruising with the Rusty Wallace party. 24 hour Pizza bar for the kids, Dining choices were really excellent. Formal dining was beautiful and cozy, the service was even better than the already great service the dining room staff usually delivers, and the steaks and chops were outstanding, comparable to any great steak house. The Midnite buffet really isn't a "buffet" anymore, now it's like a cool marketplace/food court with many more choices, (so no endless line!). Very wide-open and airy feeling, a huge step up from the typical ship buffet. We loved all the nightlife options. The shows were great and the live music on the Lido deck. Felt like a totally different night out, every single night. The ship features are most apparent on the pool deck, truly one of the most beautiful we've ever seen. Our stateroom was cozy we always get the balony room and again was not dispointed.Overall we have to say the ship was really impressive, the staff was wonderful as always, and even if you've sailed on Carnival Pride before you can go again and again.

A resonable Cruise by EdwardM5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Mexico

Activities- Swimming were very small, you could not swim only get wet in these pools. Sunbathing was only available if you were to be on deck by 9 am as there was a very limited amount of deck chairs. Food - The food in the Main Dinning Room was good, In the Mermaids Grille the food was the same every day and was not that good. To get to the food in the Mermaids Gill area was bad as people were going in all directions as there were appox 6 outlets where you woul pick up your food.

We Had a Wonderful Time! by GinaB5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Mexico

My husband and I had a wonderful time on our seven day cruise/2nd honeymoon. It was so relaxing! The food was great, our dinner companions were wonderful. We had a wonderful time getting to know other guests on the ship. We spent a lot of time reading and sunning on the deck. The weather was beautiful. We enjoyed the great shows in the Taj Mahal lounge each night after dinner. (A word of caution- even the "family entertainment" was filled with sexual inuendo, scantily clad female dancers and references to drugs, sex, drinking and gambling.) We loved the ports of call and strongly recommend that cruise guests sign up for some of the great tours that are available. We took a jeep ride, a bus ride and a snorkeling tour. We heard the extreme canopy adventure was awesome and wish we had time to do it as well! Shopping is definitely less expensive in Puerto Vallarta and Mazatlan and very expensive in Cabo San Lucas. We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend cruising to any one who wants a relaxing, fun filled getaway without the hassle of cooking, driving or doing much of anything except eating, sleeping and playing!
