Carnival Pride

7 Night Mexican Riviera (Los Angeles Roundtrip)

Sail date: February 11, 2007

Ship: Carnival Pride

Cabin type: Balcony

Traveled as: Singles/Friends

Review summary

As indicative above, the service on the ship was poor in comparison to other ships and cruise lines. The decorations on the ship were not sophisticated, and the food wasn't particularly impressive. However, if your goal is simply to get away and relax for a week, and you don't particularly care to be treated like a king or queen, then this cruise is sufficient.

Ports of call

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Beautiful city, especially if you take the tour that transports you to San Jose and shows you the variety of upscale resorts that line the beaches of Los Cabos

The kayaking at Deer Island was a lot of fun.

The kayaking at Deer Island was a lot of fun.

Pros: The ports of call were the best things about this cruise.

Cons: I've been on a couple of other cruises with difference cruise lines, and I found the Carnival Pride service poor in comparison. My cabin (with a balcony) was not totally clean upon arrival, as there was a beer bottle cap on the floor, and the furniture was dusty. Staff often appeared annoyed.
