Bring some fancy clothes so you can take advantage of the free photography sessions. if you have traveled before and feel comfortable you can negotiate a taxi to an excursion for a reasonable price. we took a taxi to a private beach for $21 per person, it was really nice.
For example: Go to the lido deck bar and look for Eko and Suanatara. Tip them well and they will pour heavy and toss drinks your way. Plus they are a great pair of guys!
Plan everything yourself and research your stops thoroughly. Do not expect any help on the ship. Go to the dining room for all your meals, and the brunch on sea days. Enjoy the hot tubs, get a massage, manicure or pedicure. Don't go to any of the presentations for free stuff; it is a lie.
My wife and I both love listening to live music. We enjoyed how there was someone playing all over the ship. I can't say enough good things about the piano bar and we enjoyed stopping by to listen to Me and My Cousin in the lobby.
If you purchase jewelry onboard with a value of over $800 you will have to be escorted to a customs officer when you return to port. The short delay waiting for the escort is more than made up with the time saved when you are taken to the front of the customs line!! Just forewarn us.
Relax and enjoy disembarkation from the Lido deck while waiting for your group luggage call. Just relax and go with the flow.
Get to know your staff members, they have fun stories to share, funny things from past cruises. They were youthful, impeccably groomed and articulate.
You can get to eat a "Guy's" burger easy enough, but to get "Guy's" BBQ, wait until about 130pm and look at both lines...go to the short one and it will move fast. Open only on sea days from 12 to 230pm. Enjoy!!
Because you sail for awhile before reaching the first port (& after last port), be prepared for the pools to be really crowded.
Oh! Definitely buy a lanyard for your ship card. Makes life so much easier & less worrisome of losing it.
