Review summary

Unfortunately, the direction that Carnival is taking has caused us to decide we will no longer be taking cruises with this cruise line. In the past we have loved Carnival cruises but this time I saw a lot of changes.  For instance, if I dine in your dining room, I don't want to see extra charges for other entrees on the menu.  I paid good money for this cruise and if I want to pay for my meal I will go to one of your restaurants. By dining in the main dining I expect there to be no charge for anything on that menu. Lehster, our server was a nice guy but very overworked.  The lack of staff was noticeable, especially in areas like the taco bar where one guy was doing everything and I waited in line 45 minutes for a taco.  There should have been at least two people working that station.  In the past, even in the buffet the staff is very accommodating, however, on this cruise they didn't even bring my husband a glass of tomato juice when he asked where he could find it.  The guy just kept clearing tables and never offered to get the drink for him.  That never would have happened before and I don't know why it happened this time. Also, one of our favorite things about cruising is the room service, however, the options were very limited, you no longer have our favorite, bagels and lox on the room service menu and that was VERY disappointing. Also, why do we have to pay for other items on the menu, room service has always been free. Ridiculous.

I have always like Carnival for their roomy rooms but not on this ship.  Our room was very small and uncomfortable considering we had four people sharing it, my self, my husband and two of our children.  My husband and I slept on twin beds the entire trip, even though it was requested that we have a king bed. We also had to share water glasses because even though there were four of us, we only ever had two clean glasses in our room.

The entertainment was good, not the best I have ever seen but good, however, the comedians were horrible and not even funny.   Some people walked out of the Geechy Guy show and I would have too but I didn't want to be heckled like the others were.  People on the ship were even mentioning how horrible he was.

The one good point was the cruise director, Dr. E, he was fantastic and his comedy was far better than the comedians. I also like the destination of the Dominican, however due to bad weather we didn't get to go to Grand Turk.  I understood why but was very disappointed because it was somewhere I really wanted to see.  Instead we went to Nassau which I have been to many times.  All in all I was very disappointed with this cruise and regret to say that it was the last time I will cruise on Carnival.
