Eastern Caribbean Cruze on Magic by johnj6572

Overall had a great time, next time will seek a newer ship with better pools and a design that does not flood the rear of the ship with exhaust fumes and smell like a vegas hotel(stale cigarettes). Service and food were great, except for 2 bad dinners.

7 Night Caribbean Carnival Magic by andrewselizabet

Carnival is fun. Food lines and pool decks are very crowded and there is a septic system smell in various parts of the ship. The pools smell like sewer water. Burger bar is good. Playlist Productions are good. There is always something to do- so much that you have to miss some things. Anytime dining now has a wait. They give you a buzzer and sometimes you have to wait 30-40 minutes for a table. Our rooms would not get cool enough and bathroom doors in both rooms would not lock. Overall a carnival cruise is a very good vacation - just don’t expect everything to be perfect.

variety of food same everyday. no chips or snacks offered. seemed cheap for price you pay. kids camp horrible. too short of stays at ports. workers seemed overworked and tired. not enough workers in dinning rooms. night time movies are old movies, nothing new.

Bad Experience by mholdenx5

Verified Review
/ Sail Date: / Traveled As: Couple

We had people beside us that smoked marijuana and played loud rap music on their balcony constantly. This made it very difficult for us to enjoy our stateroom and or balcony. We did not complain due to the fact we were afraid it would cause even more problems, the last thing we wanted was to have people mad at us and things to escalate and create an even worse experience. After returning from the cruise we called carnival, they said we should have cmplained, I suppose they don't understand what things are like this day and age and what people are capible of. So, they said that "no one else filed a complaint," "so we will give you an onboard credit of $50.00 for your next carnival cruise." This was our third cruise, we are not looking for a handout or freebie, but come on carnival, you can do much better that that. I promise you this, we will not be taking anther carnival cruise again.

The best part of Carnival Magic was the staff who are above and beyond friendly and hard working. They made us feel like special guests, and made our cruise enjoyable and unforgettable!

Disappointing cruise by JohnTR

I have been on multiple cruises and this has been my most disappointing one. P-R-I-C-E-L-I-N-E never sent our room numbers so we were scrambling to figure out our room numbers at check in. The 1-800 number at P-R-I-C-E-L-I-N-E is difficult to use on a Saturday. We arrived on the ship and there were no plates or utensils for lunches. It took us about 10 minutes to find any. The lines were extremely long for lunch the first day. We didn't have any other issues with meals except the day of arrival. We booked an excursion on Cozumel and were not told that the ship time was different than our cell phones. We are use to our cell phones updating the time which they did but this was not the same as ship time. We were an hour late for our excursion. We tried to go to guest services multiple times during our cruise, but there was always a line of 20-30 people. Carnival did not have enough people staffing guest services. I also tried to call but the phone would just ring. Carnival needs to think about moving guest services to a different location on the ship. There tends to loud music in the background and it is hard to have a discussion if a guest is hard of hearing. The rest of the cruise was fine. We had a great Cabin steward and we enjoyed having 2 bathrooms in our room. Our kids loved camp Carnival. The food was good in the main dining hall, but the service was slow most nights. We had a difficult making it to the shows in time. Many times we had to skip dessert in order to make it to the show. My biggest disappointment is that I have not gotten any follow up with Carnival or P-R-I-C-E-L-I-N-E about our issues. I will probably try a different cruise line next time.

Carnival customer service is the Worst! by paul87152218

Carnival Magic Room was dirty to the point my Wife had to clean our room. Staff could care less about us the customer. Dining staff had us miss the show every night except one due to us being in the dining room over 2 hours! This is beyond unreasonable as we purposely selected early seating so we could see the show at 7:30.

Family reunion cruise by sprink94511200

We were a group of 21 people on a family reunion cruise, ranging in age from 4 years old to 87 years old.. There was enough variety of activities to do on the Magic that we were able to keep occupied each day with fun activities. Our room steward was extraordinary, the best I’ve ever had. The ports were beautiful and fun.

Excellent 7-day Eastern Caribbean Cruise Option by 4StarDad

Verified Review
/ Sail Date: / Traveled As: Family (older children)

This was our second Carnival Cruise and the Faster to the Fun add-on is worth it's weight in gold. If you're going to spend extra money on anything, this should be it. Look for deals on travel sites where they include gratuities. If not, you'll pay $90 per person towards the end of the cruise. Don't bother with on-ship WiFi. Disconnect for a few days. You'll have cellular service in St. Thomas and Puerto Rico. The ship's entertainment was just ok - no one was really outstanding but no one was terrible either. Food was excellent to good. Steaks were disappointing in the main dining room. Unless you drink A Lot, don't buy the Cheers program. Adult drinks run from $6 for a beer to $10 for a fruity concoction. Cheers ran $500 and included up to 15 drinks per day. It's hard to drink that much and enjoy your cruise. Don't forget to download your Kindle titles! Some people love cruising, but 7 days was too long for me. I think 5 is about the right length. Now I need a vacation from my vacation.

Good time but could have been better! by lisast442

For whatever reason I couldn't comment about our cabin so I'll do it here. Our cabin was very small for 3 people but we made it work. What didn't work were the fridge and the TV and our shower drain was clogged. We called about the fridge and they said they needed a part to fix it. And the drain never was fixed. We didn't notice the TV until halfway through the cruise so we didn't report it. The weather and our dining room staff (Bob, Jason and Lee) are what made the cruise nice for us!

Was not happy that the teen club (ages 12-15?) was open until 1 a.m. This one should have been closed by midnight!

Carnival provided an amazing cruise experience. The ship director Cookie was entertaining and knew how to keep the festivities alive. The overall staff of the ship, bar tenders, cabin stewards, chefs, wait staff were incredible.

Carnival has some of the smoothest and seamless embarkation and debarkation processes as well as getting off at ports.
