We were very pleased with our cruise by SuzetteB

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship was very nice and kept up very well - we now know about location choices that we might have made differently on the where our cabin was on the ship, but overall, we were extremely pleased with the room and the service.

Great Cruise by JohnJ18

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The trip was a good one, we enjoyed the shows on the ship. The food was very good and this compares nicely witrh the food we have enjoyed on other cruises. The ports were excellent, other than the port at Grand Cayman. You must book a tour on the ship because at our particular spot, there were no booking agents other than the ones on the ship. So we just got a cab to go into town. We did not enjoy the town at all, did not know where to go, etc., so, the whole experience was a waste of time. We were hoping to book a tour with the people in the town, because it is usually half as much as the ship charges. I think that cruise 411 should let people know this. The other ports were fine, there were plenty of booking agents off the ship that one could book with and the price was half of what the ship was charging.

Great ship and great cruise! by JackK2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship was big enough to have all of the amenities that we wanted for both us and the kids. Lots of different program choices and things to do on sailing days. Crusie director Jorge was fantastic and very funny. Service was impeccable and never had a single issue with any of the employees. I called for a new remote and a slow draining sink. The remote was their in about 1 minute and the plumber guy was their in under 5 minutes. Very impressed. We had my wife, myself and my 11 and 14 year old and the room was plenty big. Much bigger than expected and very comfortable.

7-days smooth cruise with 4 ports by AlexN3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The Carnival Glory is a huge ship with many different areas to hang out. I personally like the evening show ... the "Illusion" show (magic show) is the best! Each evening there is a show. Also, there is comedy show almost every night. The dining staff is amazing and the dinner menu changes every night. The qualify of the food is great! The itinerary of the 7-day Eastern Caribbean cruise is wonderfully planned. The 1st port was the Bahamas where you can walk around and also take a 20 mins ferry to an island where you will find the Atlantis hotel. Then St. Thomas were also amazing with very clear water and you can swim with marine life within 50 meters from the beach ... the taxi ride to the beach is about 20 mins. The 3rd port is Puerto Rico where you can visit the different museums to find out the history. The last port is Grand Turk where the port is right beside the beach ... no transportation is required.

CARNIVAL GLORY by AT147

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was not the fun ship. The ship was not that clean and nobody smiled. I do not believe we were very well in formed. You could not understand the cruise director. After sailing with carnival 8 times I will be trying a different cruise line next time.

Fun Cruise and Great Service by MandyW

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship was very clean and we continually saw staff cleaning both in the rooms and the common areas. I would recommend going to the upscale restaurant - that was best experience and food we had on the cruise. The main issue with this cruise werethe other passengers. As it inexpensive there was an interesting crowd. At night the bars were packed with people that had been drinking all day. This made for rowdy and rude crowds.

Fabulous!! by AmyM6

I was skeptical about taking a carnival cruise but OMG!! The ship was enormous and gorgeous!! Service was great and top notch. Everyone was helpful and caring and was just cooperative as could be. I dont know why anyone would hesitate taking a carnival cruise, they have definately worked hard at defeating their old reputattions. Our room, 1122 was the best and most prime location to be.

Disappointing by JC2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

It's not a good sign when the only highlights of a cruise take place off the ship, but that is exactly what happened on my recent cruise on the Carnival Glory. My wife and I had high expectations, as it was a New Years cruise, but ended up fairly disappointed and most likely will never cruise with Carnival again. I would also like to add the disclaimer that I have cruised before, both on Carnival and other cruiselines, so the following complaints are not just the impressions of some naive first-timer. But first, the positives. 3 of the 4 stops (Cozumel, Isla Roatan, and Grand Cayman) were very pleasant, especially Isla Roatan, which has not yet been overly commercialized. However, I should say that my wife and I complelety ignored Carnival's suggestions and excursions at these ports and instead relied on local cab drivers to take us to less crowded beaches and show us around (I do speak Spanish, and this was helpful in Cozumel and Isla Roatan). Belize was the one stop where we paid ($140 for two) to go on a snorkeling excursion that was nice, but certainly not worth the price considering we had much better snorkeling experiences in the 3 other stops for free (we brought our own masks and snorkels and snorkeled right off the beaches). Plus, Belize City is a dump. In fact, Carnival employees on board referred to Belize as a dump, basically forcing you to book an excursion or stay on the ship, which, as I will explain now, was not a desirable option. The ship had a variety of problems, the first of which was overcrowding. I understand that cruise ships are by nature going to be crowded, however I have never been on a cruise before were the crowds had such a negative effect on the experience. We chose the "your time" dining option, which was a huge mistake, as we had to wait an average of 30 minutes every night to be seated. Not only that, on the first "elegant" evening, we waited 25 minutes in line just to get a pager, which finally rang 45 minutes later. That's right, 1 hour and ten minutes to be seated for dinner. Now, I would almost be ok with that if the food were of superior quality. However, it was decidedly below average. This was particularly frustrating, as the menu items sounded as if they would be served at an upscale restaurant (roasted breast of quail with duck liver for example), but once they arrived and my wife and I tasted them, they were awful. Every soup, appetizer, and entree was completely bereft of seasoning, making everything unbelievably bland. This was exacerbated by the inferior quality of the meat and seafood. I've had better steak at mediocre chain restaurants, and even the lobster tail, which is hard to screw up, was grainy and mushy. Well, at least you could drown your sorrows in booze right? Not exactly. For one, the alcohol was ridiculously overpriced: $8.75 for cocktails and $6 beers. Secondly, the cocktails tasted just as awful as the food and they clearly short-changed you on the liquor. Still, you could at least enjoy a nice show after your terrible meal and inferior drinks, right? Wrong again. I've seen more talented "dancers" in high school show choirs, and the lead male vocalist was mediocre (the lead female vocalist was actually fairly talented and a pleasant surprise). Now look, I get that these people are performing on a cruise ship for a reason, but still, I expect something semi-professional and this was at the high school level at best. The dancers also wore outfits that were extremely skimpy, which I have no problem with, but unfortunately did not flatter some of the dancers, one of which was just chunky, there's not other way to put it. Is that harsh? Yes, but no one wants to see a jiggly gut for an hour-long show (my wife is a dance teacher and agreed that the dancing was mediocre and that the one overweight dancer was particularly distracting). I am now out of room, but I will include more specific comments below.

Christmas Cruise w/ Carnival by JeffS9

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We sailed the Carnival Glory in the Western Carribean during the week between Christmas and New Years. Overall, we enjoyed the cruise very much, although I am not certain if the premiums paid for this holiday week were altogether worth travelling during this peak period. This ship was in fantastic condition after the recent upgrades. We found our outside staterooms to be larger than expected and very comfortable. We chose the anytime dining option and while this provided more flexibility, we did encounter more delays in waiting for a table. We utilized the Carnival Shore Excursions at every port and enjoyed each port very much.

Merry Christmas! by SamanthaH1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends

I enjoyed Carnival Glory a lot. The boat had numerous things to do and see. I especially loved the 21+ section since I have no children and would rather not be around them. It was so relaxing to not have to hear children running around me when I was trying to relax.

Loved Old San Juan by AliceD2

I think Carnival is substituting quantity for quality as far as food goes. Also, we never met the captain and crew...all contact was by t.v. or big screen. No longer a personal touch. Boo on carnival.

Fun ship with great staff by IvanW

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship is great! Lots of places to explore if you manage to have any free time. The ocean suites are really large for a ship. The dining staff is a lot of fun and tend to do nightly dances/singing. It's clean, pretty, and extravagant, which is pretty much what I expect cruise ships like this to be. The only disappointment was the SPA massages, in which the rooms seem to be under something extremely noisy (sounded like a basketball court, but that's on another part of the ship) so it's hard to relax. The Emerald room was also mixed - it was one of the highest points on the ship and seemed to vibrate and move alot.

Great Cruise by EricaW

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This was my first time on Carnival after cruising with Norwegian. I liked both cruise lines but feel they are for different "sorts" of cruisers. If you like a festive, party, and very social atmosphere with lots of children - select Carnival. The staterooms were smaller than I was accustomed to; however, they were clean and our steward was EXCELLENT!!!! All Carnival staff were courteous and helpful and always friendly. Customer service was A+. The food ranged from good to mediocre but nothing was bad or inedible. The ports of call were fine but I don't feel there was enough time in San Juan or Grand Turk. All in all . . this was a good cruise.
