it was okay by KathrynG2

I thought the overall lay out of the ship was good, however in regards to the buffets the lines were always long and it just seemed so disorganized. The Grill/pizza areas were great places. In the Red sail you just seemed to be in every ones way.

"Something fpr everyone in the family!" by SteveG5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was our second cruise on the Carnival Glory with our kids ages 13 and 9 and they were so excited to find out they were going to be on the same ship as they had such fond memories of their past cruise. This experience did not dissapoint, no sooner had we set sail when both of the girls were busy making friends at their respective camp carnival meet and greet events relative to their age groups. From then on, while on board the ship, they were both off with their friends at camp having a blast, meanwhile my wife and I found the much needed time to re-connect and just enjoy eachother's company, something we rarely have time to do enough of back home with our busy schedules. The meals were terrific as expected, service, selection and convenience were first rate. Family time was reserved for the shore excursions at the 4 ports of call we enjoyed. The variety was endless and everyone in the family found something of interest to take advantage of. From the extremes of Parasailing and swimming with the Sting Rays and Sharks, to spending a lazy day relaxing at a beach restaurant sipping Sol Beer with our chairs and umbrella placed in ankle deep water while the kids frolicked in the warm calm surf and my wife took advantage of a well deserved beach side massage. Can't wait until next year !!

Carnival glory 6/17/06 by CatherineL1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

First time crusing I thought ship would have a little more luxury. I had a balcony that was never cleared and bathroom always overflowed. Room was small. We encountered the staff at the bar on the 3rd deck very rude and unfriendly, room service only came one of the four times requested and the request remained on the door th next day. We always went to bed at 1030pm so we knew it was on time.

The ship was in excellent condition. The staff worked hard to keep everything clean and in working order. The cabins were generally large enough to accomodate two people.

The ship was great. There were lots of activities, the food was great and the professionalism and friendlyness of the crew could not have been better. There is nothing we could change about the ship.

A great family experience by JayG5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was our 3rd trip on Carnival and our 18th overall. Our past Carnival cruises have been on the smaller ships and they did not compare to the experiences we had on Royal Caribbean but the Glory exceeded our expectations. We found this ship to be very family friendly. Our two boys, 13 and 15, were never bored. The ship offered activities throughout the day that kept everyone in the family happy and busy. We even won a few ship on a sticks. The various restaurants offered plenty of options that kept everyone happy. The Deli and the Fish and Chips restaurant were extensively used by all members of our trip.

We had a great time! by Daved111

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The Glory is a beautiful ship, with plenty to do...if you want to be on the go all the time. The only problem is Carnival uses the same techniques they perfected on smaller ships and apply them to this megaliner. They've gone to great lengths, and staff, to make embarkation go smoothly. Yet there are 2 gangways boarding well over 2 thousand people...and all have to stop, drop their luggage, and group up for 2 photographers. That held up the line immeasurably. Kind of like the lines to get off the ship....which were held up by 2 photographers. The midnight munchies were handled by a small deli and small pizzeria. The food was good, but each of these stations was manned by one person. With everyone wanting a snck at the same time, well, you do the math. My utmost respect to the crew- they must work 18 hours a day- but that one guy at the pizzaria was about unconscious by the late night rush. Little lapses, like a breakfast waiter with an attitude and asst waiters asking you to hand them a plate for removal. No huge deal, but this was my forth Carnival cruise...this never happened before. And waiting for the cabin steward was a first. We had a child with us, and like to lay around on vacation, so perhaps we were in the cabin more than most people, but we'd leave to get out of the way and come back, and it still wasn't made up. I think he was spead too thin, too.

Nice Cruise For Families With Children by GladysS

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The ship is relatively new with a young crew. I was impressed by both the Golden and Platinum dining room staff, who were very friendly and accomodating. Since I have several previous cruises with which to compare, I must rate the food and preparation as average, the spa below average (my facial was much over priced and horrendously performed), but the room that I had, even though on flr. # 1was above average, and I did not feel the motion of the boat as I have on previous cruises on lower decks. Since this was a summer cruise (5/27-6/3), there were many children running around, and from the high pitched sounds, apparently having a great time, however this did not contribute to a laid back and relaxing trip for mature travelers as I. Still, I had a good time overall.

a fun time on the funship! by JessicaM6

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I recently went on a Carnival cruise, on the Glory, and had a fantastic time! It was somewhat of a reunion cruise for us -- an old roommate of mine and I had not seen each other for a year. We were able to relax and go out and enjoy the planned excursions. Overall, the ship's rooms were great and our stateroom steward was very friendly. The food was fantastic! We were able to enjoy a relaxing week and yet, there was always something to do! We will definitely return to Carnival.

Good but didnt rock our socks by TheN

Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We went on Glory on our honeymoon. The embarkation took a while even though we had filled out our fun pass (a quicker way to board the ship). We thought that the decor' was lovely bright and welcoming. Although there seem to be little organization. It would have been nice if there were signs on the first day to guide us to the elevators or more importantly lunch. We waited in pursers office line for about 30 just wanting a map. The crew always had a smile on their face and was very cheerful. We were very very very pleased with the size our stateroom. We basically were in steerage (Level 2 main) and our stateroom was huge. Luckily we graced with an outside room. Our window was large enough for my 6'3 husband to sit in (not stretch out but certainly sit in). The bedding was much more comfortable than we had expected. Feather pillows and down comforter. Very posh. We had nice big almost full length vanity mirrors on both sides of the television. There were two large closets where you could place your dresses suits etc, and then a shelved closet (4 shelves) where you place your pants and shirts. I wish the amenities in the bathroom were refilled but we loved the stateroom (you get a surprise animal towel friend every night when they turn down your bed ((nice)) The carnival capers (your daily activity layout) could have given a bit more information like ... you can find maps and card holder here and there. Just little pieces of info. The entertainment (Broadway shows) were executed very well techniquely (costumes, sound, lighting, a rising pit and a fully rotating stage) the acting and music was typical for a cruise... nothing really for the true theater lovers but nice glitz and glam. What really steamed my cookie was all food (except pizza, burgers and room service) closed at 230pm. When you are starving and coming back in from port you want food and beverage. Well that is all the 3000 other guests idea too. The lines wrap around deck 5 waiting for a nasty cold hamburger (to accommodate 3000 hungry guests) if you wanted something to eat you had to wait in line about 20 min or get room service (which everyone else was doing so that took 15-20 min) and it was just sandwiches are pretzels not so hot when for an entire week. I cant say enough about the crew. Extremely friendly people that worked extremely hard to make sure everyone was very happy on the ship. Our wait staff was extremely personable and attentive. And they had their own little flair that made our honeymoon meals very special. Our cabin Stewart made us cute towel animals every night and even created a "just married sign out of glow sticks and stickers" and placed it on our cabin door. Overall the ship was fun and comfortable. We were slightly disappointed in the food (availability) and the organization. We thought our Princess cruise was a bit better but we still had fun on the Carnival glory

My husband and I took our first cruise from 5/20--5/27 on the Carnival Glory and I must say it was a great experience, We enjoyed it so much we are thinking of taking another one next year. The service in overall was a very good one, from the food whether it was in one of the casual restaurant or at the formal dining room to the staff who were friendly and made you feel at home.

Relaxing Getaway by JayF3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

My wife and I recently set sail on the Carnival Glory in May of 2006. This has been the largest ship we have sailed, and we were delighted. The colorful decor of the ship caught our attention immediatly!! Every bar, restuarant, and lounge had it's own colorful palette. From the gorgeous Amber Palace showroom to the dramatic Cinn-a-bar lounge, it was quite easy to tell that great attention was paid to the decor of this luxury liner. Our cabin was located on the Rivera deck forward. We chose a slightly larger cabin with two portholes. While the portholes did offer us some light, panoramic views were non-existant. Our cabin was a nice size with a king size bed and a small sitting area with a table. As usual the bathroom was small, but no more so than any other cruise that we have taken. Our cabin steward did a great job. Our only complaint would be that due to the location of our cabin we were able to hear the thrusters and anchor lowering every time we came into port. Upon entering the Amber Palace show room we were enthralled by several excellent shows. The Vegas style shows will thrill you and the comedians will make you laugh until your belly hurts. Our cruise director Mark and his entertainment staff were excellent. In closing, if traveling on the Glory, I would recommend seeing as many shows as you can. Now to everyone's favorite part of cruising.... the FOOD!!! We ate all our dinners in the Platinum dining room and were very pleased. Late seating suits our personalities quite well. The food was excellent and the wait staff did not disappoint. We ate most breakfasts and lunches on the lido deck and were pleased with the wide variety of choices. Make sure to grab a steak sandwhich at the grill... it was terrific! In closing, the Carnival Glory can be summed up best in one word- Glorious!
