My wife and I recently set sail on the Carnival Glory in May of 2006. This has been the largest ship we have sailed, and we were delighted. The colorful decor of the ship caught our attention immediatly!! Every bar, restuarant, and lounge had it's own colorful palette. From the gorgeous Amber Palace showroom to the dramatic Cinn-a-bar lounge, it was quite easy to tell that great attention was paid to the decor of this luxury liner.
Our cabin was located on the Rivera deck forward. We chose a slightly larger cabin with two portholes. While the portholes did offer us some light, panoramic views were non-existant. Our cabin was a nice size with a king size bed and a small sitting area with a table. As usual the bathroom was small, but no more so than any other cruise that we have taken. Our cabin steward did a great job. Our only complaint would be that due to the location of our cabin we were able to hear the thrusters and anchor lowering every time we came into port.
Upon entering the Amber Palace show room we were enthralled by several excellent shows. The Vegas style shows will thrill you and the comedians will make you laugh until your belly hurts. Our cruise director Mark and his entertainment staff were excellent. In closing, if traveling on the Glory, I would recommend seeing as many shows as you can.
Now to everyone's favorite part of cruising.... the FOOD!!! We ate all our dinners in the Platinum dining room and were very pleased. Late seating suits our personalities quite well. The food was excellent and the wait staff did not disappoint. We ate most breakfasts and lunches on the lido deck and were pleased with the wide variety of choices. Make sure to grab a steak sandwhich at the grill... it was terrific!
In closing, the Carnival Glory can be summed up best in one word- Glorious!

Pros: decor

Cons: cabin noise

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas
One of the most beautiful islands I've ever been to. Shopping is excellent. The view of the harbour in Charlotte Amalie is one you won't forget. We opted to take the ferry over to St. John in the morning and go to Trunk Bay. Trunk Bay is absolutly breathtaking and the snorkeling trail is not to be missed. Where else can you see a 5 foot long Tarpon? We ended our day shopping in town.
Don't Miss: Trunk Bay in St. John
Philipsburg, St. Maarten
We left our hearts and our money in St. Maarten. It is home to some of the most beautiful jewelry in the world. The locals are very friendly and willing to show you anything you would like to see. Where else do they hand out beer in a jewelry store??
Don't Miss: Front Street shopping

Nassau, Bahamas
Nassau was not our favorite port of call. Not much shopping, and downtown Nassau is not the cleanest place in the world. We did speak to many people who said that Paradise Island was very nice.
