Going on a cruise is a must! You will enjoy every moment of it and you don't feel like you're on a ship.

Definitely go on Carnival Freedom, I wish I would of had a better idea of all the payments I should of made up front, but I think thats just something you learn from experience. My family and I had a great time. We had a tropical storm, and I wish we were more informed about what was going on. but overall we loved it and will be cruising again.

Be sure to purchase amenities before you go on the cruise. The cost is better than after you board. (wi-fi, etc)

Make sure they have a statement from their bank or credit card company regarding the amount they have approved before sailing. We were called to Guest Services on Friday night and told that Carnival had held $200 with our bank and our Sail and Sign account was over that limit. When Carnival SAID they had tried twice to get the difference approved, it was denied by the bank. When we got home and talked to the bank they said Carnival had NEVER tried even the $200 and we had been approved for $2,000.00 not the usual $200 that Carnival said they had held. Someone at Carnival screwed up and would not admit it and blamed it on the bank and the bank went all the way to the CEO and no one could find where Carnival had even tried to debit our bank account for the difference!!!

Make use of the facilities - go to the shows, eat dinner at the Posh restaurant, enjoy breakfast and lunch on the Lido deck - explore the ship and its shops. This is really a big, beautiful ship - it's not a boat, it is a ship and yes, there is a difference. There will some disappointments, but don't let those get in your way while you have the time of your life!
