Review summary

We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary aboard the Carnival Freedom during this cruise. The staff and crew aboard this ship made us realize that there is still a place on earth that you can get away from it all, celebrate how ever you want, and be treated with kindness and great service every where you went every day! This memory will be forever embedded in our hearts, and hope that all who reads this, encourages them to make a memory with Carnival! Happy Sailing To You!!!!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We had "Faster to the Fun" so our embarkation and debarkation was awesome. On the ship and in our cabin in 30 minutes, off the ship and on the way home in 20 minutes! We won't sail without Faster to the Fun as an excursion!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food was absolutely great when you stop and think how many people needs to get fed in a short window of time! Of course the dining room was always a better choice of options, but even when we did use the buffet, it did not disappoint!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We participated in the onboard Spa and pools and was totally satisfied.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We attended all of the stage shows during the cruise and was very impressed! All of the musicians were of great quality and just about every genre was represented. The comedy club was tremendous...have not laughed that hard in a long time.

Children's Programs

We did not bring any children with us.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The service was so good that we could not help but notice each and every day, every hour. The waiters called us by our names when they greeted and waited on us, the room steward we had smiled and welcomed us every morning and the evening turn down service with the little animal towels put a smile on our face. Every one on board our ship served with a definite purpose, and that purpose was to make sure that we had the time of our lives! (And we did, thanks to them!)

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
There was always somebody cleaning, arranging, cleaning again, and just always keeping up with 3000 people has to be a tough job and they did it well! Common areas were very well maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The best cabin without being a "Suite" by far! The largest of decks and the best views from the balcony made this voyage a great one. The bedding was extremely comfortable, the inside window views were to die for! Our room steward made sure that we were happy with the entire cruise every day! Clean room, bathroom and bedding every day! WOW!

Ship tip

Do your homework if you are a first time cruiser like we were. I am so glad that we did!

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

Set sail from Galveston. No excursion was booked here.

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

5 out of 5
You talk about and see those photos in magazines about how blue and clear the water is? IT IS VERY TRUE! The water there was so beautiful! We had an excursion for the chair lift ride to the beach and was not disappointed! We had a wonderful day.

Belize City, Belize

5 out of 5
We had the river boat excursion and got to see manatees, iguanas, and wildlife of Belize. Very relaxing day and very informative from the tour guide!

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
We did the submarine excursion in Cozumel and was so thrilled we wanted to go back and do it again. We got to see a sunken ship, sharks, all types and sizes of tropical fish, all in 106 feet deep water crystal clear!

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Again we used the Faster to the Fun to disembark and was in our car and heading home in 20 minutes! That is the only way to go so make sure you book it!
