Review summary

The Western Caribbean cruise was more fun than the Eastern Caribbean to me and my husband. Maybe our next one will exceed both of these! They keep getting better and better!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
The service and directions were very helpful and we breezed right though to the ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
All the foods we tried were exceptional.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The contests our director led were fun, fun, fun! Malcom Burn is a hoot!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The ones we saw were well choreographed.

Children's Programs

We did not have any youths with us.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Ariel was our room steward and he was over the top! Kevin was our head waiter and we grew very fond of him. He was very informative regarding the days activities as well as serving us some of the best food we've ever had. What can you say bad about dining out 7 nights in a row?! All the crew members were polite and friendly. Also the cruisers were very nice folk!

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Freedom's cleanliness was never an issue...they almost cleaned it before the mess was made! The ship's layout was confusing for us. In order to get to the main dining room we were assigned to you had to go under or over the dining room above it...could not access it from the deck it was on.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
That is the only way to travel on a cruise! No complaints from me!

Ship tip

Look up Malcom Burn and tell him he was a hit!

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas Did not visit port

This was the port we sailed out of.

Montego Bay, Jamaica

5 out of 5
We did the tour to Johns Hall and visited one of the preschools. The children were adorable, very clean and well groomed/dressed. At the plantation they served us true Jamaican food...very interesting! Our tour guide Tamara was very informative. I had heard from other travelers that I should watch out for pushy vendors, but Tamara kept us informed and safe!

George Town, Grand Cayman

5 out of 5
We took the Nautilus tour where we sat in an air-conditioned boat with under water viewing windows. Our tour guide, Dennis, was exceptional! Very intelligent and humorous.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
We toured the Malayan ruins and the tip of the beach. Our tour guide, Kevin, was wonderful. He kept a good head count of all 47 of us throughout the tour and gave us a very interesting tour.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Malcom Burn gave us a preview the night before we disembarked, so we were well prepared. The director deserves a gold star for his organizational skills! We found our luggage with no problem at all and had only a five minute wait in line.

It is so nice the cruise lines have a variety of cruises to a same general area. Usually ports change as cruises lengthen. Keeps us from getting bored. But when boredom starts to creep in, NEW cruise territory time!
