Fun for the family. by CruiseMom2022

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Elation

A very good time. Lots to do. Cute layout. Not an overwhelming ship in terms of size, which we enjoyed. Great staff. My husband said the casino is a little tight, so leave if/when you are ahead.

Carnival Elation Trip by KelseyJean

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Elation

We sailed on Carnival Elation to the Bahamas and felt it was an incredibly chaotic experience. There was something wrong with the boat which delayed our departure time and ended up canceling one of our port visits. Communication was very confusing and disjointed. Our morning in Nassau, our catamaran and snorkeling excursion was cancelled due to "not enough interest." When we arrived at the information desk we saw a long line of people who received the same message. Come to find out the cruise actually meant to say it was cancelled due to weather. We booked a dolphin excursion instead. As we got off the boat we learned the dolphin excursion was cancelled and same man who minutes before had sold us the dolphin excursion got us to book a swimming with the pigs excursion. We got on a small boat, arrived at the island, and learned the pig excursion was cancelled but we were trapped on the island for the next four hours. As soon as we arrived back on the cruise ship they informed us the second port was also cancelled. Overall incredibly poor communication and customer service. Nothing was done to assist besides a $100 cruise credit per stateroom not passenger. I felt very disappointed with this use of half my vacation days for the year and very disappointed in the response from carnival. I would not recommend carnival to anyone.

a cruise that had a lot of issues but still had a great time by ready2cruise2017

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Elation

Though we had engine trouble, we had a very good cruise. It was my mom and my aunt's first cruise and they had a very good time. They did and tried things they have never got to experience before and I am very thankful for that.

Our ship was late leaving the Port of Jacksonville and also returning to Jacksonville. However, the cruise was fantastic and keeping us entertained throughout the cruise. We loved it!

Not great for kids by jbeninati

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Elation

Never again. This was essentially a trashy adult sleep away camp on water. Save your money and book a ship out of miami that’s newer and has more amenities or more ports of call.

Great cruise. Nice ship. by NanMarie

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Elation

We had a great time. Nice ship, food was great, people were friendly. A cruise is always better than being at work or having to cook and clean every day at home.

Quick get away on the Carnival Elation by MikeG65

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Elation

This is a great ship for a quick get away. Relaxing and never felt crowded. I love the small ships and this one in particular for its lay out. Way to get from one place to another. Nothing is really that far away if you like to walk and climb stairs. Great crew. Casino is a bit crowded thought with not enough staff, but we killed it in there this weekend

Very relaxing cruise by DGgetaway

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Elation

There were some very rude people. Literally yelling in the hallways 20 cabins away from each other, trying to talk to others across the buffet from one side of the ship to the other. No concern for others and who might be disturbed by the yelling. Those were the few and we met some very nice and polite people. Most people smiled and were very pleasant. With all that we still had a very enjoyable cruise. We went to relax and refresh and we did.

Smaller Ship by annscochenour

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Elation

The passengers and crew were very nice and respectful. Ship was too small for our liking. Need pool in adult section since because of kids can’t enjoy main pool. Food definitely was a let down. Worse food I’ve ever had on a cruise especially the buffet

First time with the kids by ChiFulton5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Elation

The kids had a great time. Family trips aren’t the same as vacation. The kids were pleased with the food and appreciated the autonomy. I ate in the dining room as much as possible for a better culinary experience. Pack seasoning (and hot sauce if you like it). Best food was the sushi!

Never seen so many People drunk and loud, 15 drink minimum, I feel wasn't enforced. My first Cruise and I had to witness this.

Cruise employees were great, new policies suck by willchills

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Elation

this is my 17th cruise and the first cruise where I did not tip. The service of the crew was restricted by Carnival policies. Our cabin steward cleaned the cabin once a day. As far as I'm concerned, that's his job. He did not check on us unless we called. This nonsense with the app was ridiculous. As stated before, I go on a cruise to unplug, not carry my phone with me at all times. Room service was also cancelled. We were on Deck 14 at the very front of the ship. The food was on Lido at the back of the ship. One night, without knowing, we called for room service and was told there was a charge. Needless to say, after dinner, we took food to our room in case it was needed. The crew and staff at Carnival was delightful but due to their "new" policies I won't be travelling with Carnival anymore. I hope their app craving crew can afford the suites on Verandah and above as we will be switching to another line or start visiting Sandals

Vacation filled with Fun, Family Time and Food by 1Crusieatatime

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Elation

Overall the experience was positive. This was our first cruise and we learned a lot. What I thought may be a once in a lifetime experience certainly will not be, we are looking to book again! I will strategize for a better dining experience but certainly will not go hungry. No more Bubbles package for the kids, we will just carry on a couple cases of soda. The butterflies of how this works and what to do are no gone, the next voyage will be even better.

Great little ship! by cruise6921951

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Elation

Overall, a great cruise. Dining room staff could be better organized. If they had more ports of call than Nassau, I would love to sail Carnival Elation again! How about going to Bermuda instead of Nassau?
