Review summary

There were some very rude people. Literally yelling in the hallways 20 cabins away from each other, trying to talk to others across the buffet from one side of the ship to the other. No concern for others and who might be disturbed by the yelling. Those were the few and we met some very nice and polite people. Most people smiled and were very pleasant. With all that we still had a very enjoyable cruise. We went to relax and refresh and we did.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Quick and efficient. From parking to on board about 30 minutes

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food was very good just not wow worthy. Same food in MDR and buffet if not going for Pizza, Deli, Burger or Blue Iguana. The last day the salad seemed to stale.

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
Did not do any activities on board.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Shows were ok just no wow factor. Piano Bar guy played little piano just corded with tracks. He talked too much and was not very good at singing. Violin players were excellent. Steel drums get tiring after awhile, just my opinion. He was good just got tired of the tone of the drums after and hour.

Children's Programs

No kids

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We found the staff to be very friendly and interactive.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
This was our second time on the Elation and we love this ship. For all the ones who complain about and old ship. Do not go on an old ship if you do not like old ships. Does the ship have wear on it? Yes. Find the trophy case on deck 9 and look where this ship has been. For her age she's got a lot of life left. The ship is clean and easy to navigate. I've been on newer ships that looked worse the the Elation.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cabin is small but we knew that and manage it. It was clean and everything worked.

Ship tip

Go to relax not be over active.

We got the Resorts World excursion without the meal. Thought we wopuld buy lunch on our own. Have not seen anything in all my research about not taking cash for payment at Resort World. The are cashless, credit or debit only. So we went back to the ship early. Loved the beach area.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
People do not follow instructions. We were in self debarkation and as we got to the terminal someone behind said "luggage 1 that's us". The cruise lines have a procedure to get everyone off efficiently but you need to follow there way not do your own thing.

You explained well one thing I don’t like about Carnival. It’s not the kids, it’s the inconsiderate or unmannered adults. It’s like they think they are in a crowded bar where they can yell and laugh so loud you hear them across the ship. Except unlike a loud bar, no one else is yelling. I like a lot about Carnival also though.

Agree that if people followed the disembarking procedures, things would be better for all. After over 25 cruises I really don't understand why everyone seems to be in a rush to get off the ship.
