We had a great time and the kids loved it.  It was the first cruise for our kids and they enjoyed the experience.  They spent a lot of time on the basketball court, hot tub and watching the late night movies by the pool.  We would have loved to see the basketball court open past 5pm because the kids wanted to play on the days we went on excursions.

Everything hit or miss by chastainburns

Ship: Carnival Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The food, entertainment, and activities were all 50/50. Sometimes they we absolutely amazing!!! Other times they were downright awful.

The only thing on this boat that was amazing and wonderful 100% of the time was the service! From room service, to dining, or even the main clean up crew, every one of them was so considerate and kind and happy.

Great Time! by bernsax

Ship: Carnival Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Very nice ship, great entertainment, wonderful food.  Highly recommended!  We traveled with friends and they also raved about the experience.

We like the relaxed less formal atmosphere of Carnival compared to other cruse lines.  It is a fun ship!

7 Night Western Caribbean-New Orleans by dsslooter

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Had a great time.  The only negative is smoking locations.  There are too many places for smokers and employee smoking was right outside the door where our dining table was.  Very annoying, but did not ruin our trip. Would highly recommend snorkeling in Roaton, take the bus 45min drive.  Equipment was $10 if you haggle, otherwise $15.  In Cozamel, I'd recommend taking a taxi into the city and then taking a 2 hour bus tour around the island (not a ship excursion).  Get the COZUMEL TODAY tourist guide while in the city it helps.

New Orleans Cruise by dkuseske

Ship: Carnival Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was our first time traveling on  Carnival and we were very happy with the experience.  the food was great , the cabin was great.  We were not excited about the comedy show.. Didn't think they were that funny and we did not stay up for the R rated shows.  The singers and dancers were good and we enjoyed them.  You had a good variety of movies to see.

Service Waning by M4weber

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was my fifth cruise with Carnival, and was disappointed to see the drop in service. I don't know if the change is across all Carnival ships or unique to the Carnival Dream. We specifically booked a cabin with a balcony because I like to enjoy a cigar occasionally, but smoking is not allowed on balconies on the Dream! We also like to have full service breakfast in our cabin some mornings. Not available on the Dream, if any Carnival ships anymore! Only continental breakfast available. They no longer offer a stocked mini-bar and keep your ice bucket full. We are used to seeing the room steward once or twice a day as we come and go from the room. This trip, we saw the steward only twice the whole week! We heard Carnival reduced the room stewards by 50 percent. Food was okay, ship was clean, and entertainment was good, but we will not be sailing on the Carnival Dream again.

Dream cruise...Deamy? Or not Dreamy! by jolind1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I am a seasoned cruiser..Platinum level on Carnival...that being said....we will probably choose to not book on the Dream again. Main reasons you ask? We were hot hot hot hot almost everywhere we went onboard! First thing I always do when getting onboard turn down AC as low as it will go...ask for fan.....most ships you will need extra covers....this one we were sweating and kicking covers off in the night....we would just stop playing in casino due to being so hot....and go look for AC. There were other passengers who also commented on how warm it was. At lunch one day I could not eat in the gathering where we had sat due to mopping sweat! Other reasons....were service on this ship in rooms was not so good....had to call and beg for ice? What the heck?gives glasses water...but no ice....if carnival is getting this cheesy don't know what to say....

1st time cruiser by artinsley4

This is a very nice & clean ship. Loved our balcony room. Enough space for 2 adults, 2 kids. Cleaning crew kept our rooms spotless. Loved all the entertainment on board, especially the fun force break dancing show. Staff is great. Kids club area kept my 5 yr old very happy & entertained. Food in the restaurants just ok. Spent most time eating in the buffet area. Plenty to choose from.  Loved the night time movies on the top deck under the stars. So many things to do. Will definitely cruise again.

Not as good as it usued to be by charleenle

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Lunch on Lido was the same every day and not very good.  They do not clean the room but once a day.  No robes or chocolates. Entertainment was poor.  Our inside cabin was extremely small with no chair or couch.  Just not the same as it has been in the past.

Carnival can do better by pamschwo

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We have sailed with Carnival several times as well as on the Dream.. This was the worst experience to date.  There was no variety for breakfast, same options every day.  I will say that the food in the Dining room was good and the waiters were very nice.  We did our best to enjoy ourselves however, I will NOT sail on the Dream again.

Lived up to it's disappointing expectation.. by kp0310

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Western

People warned me not to go on a Carnival cruise..but my husband and I failed to listen. We figured "how bad can it be?", "is it really as bad as people say?" ... For how much money we spent the food was horrible (we got cheesecake that tasted like warm rubber, cold french fires with our steak at our sit down dinner), most of the staff was rude and clueless, the boat rocked almost the whole time, kids were running around everyone without their parents, the glamorous put-put golf course advertised was extremely run down, and all throughout the night the buffet room made noise dragging chairs across the floor all night long.

There were some good things about this cruise.. I want to be fair. The shows and actors were great! The cleaning staff/waiters were all really nice and remembered our names the whole trip, the Super Bowl playing outside on the big screen was a great idea (until the screen kept freezing up).

So all in all, I do not think I will ever be going on a Carnival cruise again. I have heard too many stories and confirmed it for myself. If I ever DO go on another cruise.. I will have to go with someone else.

It was fun, but not real fun. by brentabbott9

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The staff was wonderful. The food was good. The ship was very clean. It was our first cruise and we were kind of bored on the ship. We kept going back to the casino to play the quarter pushing game to entertain ourselves. We saw a couple of the comedy shows and they were good. We saw a couple of the show productions and one was really good. Sea days are when you have to keep yourself busy. If you don't like laying out by the pool, it can be boring. If you go to Jamaica, be sure to plan an excursion, otherwise don't even get off the ship. The locals will hound you the whole time if you don't have an excursion. It's a little scary. Grand Cayman was very different. It was very nice an no one was hounding us. Our excursion was cancelled due to choppy water, so we were pretty disappointed and had to settle for the sea turtle farm. It was fun, but we were really looking forward to Snuba. Our stop in Cozumel was the most fun. We took the ferry to Playa del Carmen and went to Rio Secreto which is the Amazing Secret River excursion. The caves were great. When we got back to Playa del Carmen, we had a few minutes before our ferry ride back and we ate at Los Aquachiles. This was a great little local restaurant. The grilled octopus was great and the fish taco were good too. I would say that if I ever cruise again, I may go on a shorter cruise. Port days are good, but I don't care for sea days. If you like to rest, it's great.

Not pleased by mskalil

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Western

If this was my first cruise I would have never gone on another one! Kids played on the elevators constantly. The food was always cold by the time you got a drink and found seating. Bottomless bubbles was a waste because you have to wait in long lines at the bar to get the drink.

Magic Cruisers were an awesome group to join by Cruiser970

Ship: Carnival Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Awesome experience for my first cruise.  As a Foodie, this was a fabulous trip.  We had several dining experiences in the dining room, an awesome Chef's Table experience [MUST DO], and the ability to get quality food 24/7 was great.

Carnival Dream - 7 night Western Caribbean by gjT3Cln0mzYN0XJfmkC5feHG7

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship was full, but we never had an issue finding lounge chairs each day. Seems that people are getting a little too casual for dinner in the dining rooms on regular dinner nights - many people's attire was better suited for the Lido buffet than the Main dining rooms.

Weather was cold, overcast and windy on our last sailing day back to port - first time I realized how few TV channel options there are in the room - a couple more channel options would have been nice.

Caribbeans  Dream is abeautiful ship. Food was very good in the dining rooms but not in the cafeteria. Ship was always clean. Cabin was adequate as expected. Entertainment was welldone. Looved the  Blackjack Band. The ship always seemed overcrowded.

great cruise by roemerpeter

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Yes we had a great time and better believe it we already booked same cruise same boat again 2 days after we were home now also for our daughter and grand children.

Every employee on board was super nice they do everything to make or keep you happy

Our "stateroom " was very nice , food was between good and great anyway to much

One thing a night in the extra Paid Art- Steakhouse was a bit of a disappointment we got the worst table card table size and looking at the emergency exit.

Food was very good and servers very nice but if you do make sure you get a

good table

First time Dreamer..nice ship, will sail it again. by cruisentn

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Cove balcony was outrageously great, loved the privacy and close to the water.

The rooms were nice, updated.

Well kept 2 times a day.

Plenty of great shows to entertain.

Cons were that the gym was small for that many people on board, and the food was not very good. Cold sometimes even.

That said, I'd sail the Dream any day of the week!

SUPER fun time on board by lilredhead445

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Western

had the best time cruising on the carnival Dream.. the ship itself was gorgeous, as expected... but the ROOM we got... THAT was an extra special surprise, thanks to our booking agent English!!! We had "larger" room, and it actually had a BATH TUB, with an extra bathroom area, with a sink/shower... That was fun.. actually SOAKING in a hot tub.. unexpectedly nice! Our travel companions had an interior room across the hall, again thanks to English our travel expert at Entertainment... everything was SMOOTH and easy!! Despite one day of rocky seas, our captain was an expert, and got us everywhere ON TIME, and without any incidents!! Cant wait to do it again!Love
