for the money we paid, it was a good cruise. Ship was kind of old, food was not what we were expecting. Kids program was not very good in my opinion. They would find a daily excuse to close early. made no sense to take the kids there for an extended period of time .  24 hr gym was my fav, steam and dry sauna was great. drink prices were on par.

Carnival Conquest by minierj

The ship's staff was very professional and courteous.  The food was delicious and the scheduled entertainment was great.  However, sometimes the waiting time at the bars for a drink was a bit too long.  Too many guests for the number of bartenders.  But overall, had a blast on the cruise!!!

Service Staff made this trip FABULOUS! by ginawrrn

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Guest services was horrible and the missing star is for them.  They incorrectly told us we had to move the first day after we'd unpacked.  So, we repacked and prepared to move only to be told that they had contacted the wrong cabin.  So....we unpacked again and got NO APOLOGIES or anything from them.

Never Again! by joychap1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)

I guess the cruise itself was the best part. The actual sailing days, The food was awful, and that was what everyone says is the best part of the cruise would be! Whether we ate at the dining hall, or at other restaurants and buffets, the food had not taste, very bland and was almost always warm to cold. Very disappointed in that. Also, had trouble with many charges on our bill at the end. Good thing we checked! We went on one excursion and was charges for beers and drinks ...Neither one of us drink beer or drinks. Then we got charged for gratuities for over $1600 for the two of us, after we said we would pay our own gratuities from the beginning. All in all, I would not go on another Carnival Line cruise, nor would I recommend one to anyone else. My sister, cousins, and friends have said Royal Caribbean is the best they have gone on and there is no comparison to the Carnival Lines. My son and his girlfriend also went, and he wasn't pleased either. This was his first cruise.

Sept trip was great by karenstapinski

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Ship needs to be updated.  The lay out of the ship is great. Entertainment is great. Most staff is great.  Rooms are old and needs new furniture and carpets. Tons of storage area which is great.  TV is very small. Dominican Republic port needs to be replaced with a better, safer, cleaner stop.

Carnival Conquest Trip Review by tomterryq1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean

Room accommodations and room staff were excellent. Food at the dining room was ok......but Presentation was weak. Service in the dining room was good.

Food at the Lido buffet was ok. Breakfasts were done well. For lunch and dinner the food service staff was not on top of keeping the food stocked and hot. On two nights only 2 serving areas were open and there were lines of 25-30 people on each line because the kitchen staff was not replenishing food in a timely manner.

The people who did the clean-up in the Lido did an excellent job. Was disappointed in the entertainment.

Left 2 shows because the music was too loud ( hard metal rock at extreme volume is not our type of entertainment ).

the adult 18+ entertainment by Thea was more than vulgar as defined. She was disgusting.

The lady who did two presentations on diet, exercise and detoxing was top drawer !! The doctor who gave the seminar on acupuncture and back pain was very poorly prepared.

Bottom line is we would not recommend this cruise and given a choice will book future cruises with other companies.

Room Service on Carnival Conquest by dszimba

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean

Several mornings we would place our requested room service for the next morning; we would request two cereals, two milk, etc.  for two people in the room - we would only get one bowl, or one spoon.  Happened on three consecutive occasions.  We would have to call guest services, to get the missing items. Finally we would pick up the utensils the night before.  The Danish was often dried out and unable to eat.

What happened to the stocked refrigerator?  Missed the availability of not having sodas in the refrigerator.

The night show is spectacular. Overall, the ship is clean, the crew is very polite and respectful. The food is social and very casual. I think that the chef can be more creative.

The staff was very friendly and helpful.  The ship was well maintained and clean. The food was not as good as other cruises on Carnival.  Other than the casino no comfortable area to smoke.

Never again by mariemulcahy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The cruise itself was not bad, but our accommodations were horrible. We asked for two beds. Got there and beds were pushed together. My husband uses a c-pap machine and there was no place to put it on. We looked for our steward, couldn't find him, so I went to guest services where they told me my reservation was for two beds so it would be done before the end of the day. We went to Muster and then explored the ship, went to dinner etc. came back to room at about midnight to find our room as we left. Tried to call housekeeping, no answer. So after trying to separate the beds ourselves, and failing we we able to push beds apart enough to wedge a stool in between them to put the machine on, but now we lonely had bedding for one bed. My husband used e bedding and I used two beach towels for a blanket. Next day it was fixed. Our room was very cold and the thermostat did not work. After several calls and visits to guest services that kind of got resolved. Room was then very warm, but better warm than freezing. We had no cold water in our room. That or fixed in a day. Never pick a room on the 6th floor aft. The lounges and nightclubs were directly under us. It felt like karaoke people were standing in our room. No sound proofing at all.

Sail another ship. by carl72001

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

I have sailed many times. Carnival. NCL. Disney. Celebrity. Royal Caribbean. This was the poorest. I will be lucky to get my spouse to take another cruise and I love cruising.

The ship is old and it shows. The food was palatable, but not good. The entertainment was poor. Service, except in a few areas, was poor.

I can say that I won't be traveling on Carnival again.

Carnival can do better by tncaine

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

My first cruise and I was not pleased  at all. Throughout the duration  of the cruise i felt hassled for money. If u won anything you had to pay. I got a gift  50 certificate  for the spa for my anniversary  from carnival  and when i went to retrieve  it. I was told manicure is  $ 50 but with the voucher i received i have to do a manicure and pedicure which is $145. Won a free art from  art auction ,another  thing i had to pay money . The staff from auctions  was very rude and racist.  They had me return 3 times to the gallery  before  i could discuss the shipping of my free art. Forget about the nuisance of the photographers. When u did take pictures.  The where so overpriced it was ridiculous and at the end of the trip they refuse to give u the rest of your pics at a discount.  I believe  they should  give u at least 5 of your pics whether it be portrait of otherwise for  $50. Drinks from the bar was water down. I has a kiss on the lips and thought  i was drinking a non alcoholic punch and over price. It was considered  a Caribbean  Cruise  with out any influence  of the Caribbean.  There were no Caribbean  food or drinks served on board . Little to no Caribbean music and the only  place this was heard was  deck 9 at the buffet very low. Where u can fall asleep. Program  layout was boring and lame . I could plan a better program. Activity director needs to be more creative and inventive. For God sake Caribbean  people have fun and is full of life and flavor. For all the money the people spend to go on the cruise you can at least give them free alcohol drinks.i had 2 boring days at sea . Carnival could have added  at least one more island to the package

Carnival Conquest Review by afw812

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean

The Crew, for the most part, were courteous and friendly. The restaurants food  was tasty and enjoyable; so were the other eating stations. We felt that the bars took up too much deck space not allowing enough shaded areas to relax. We asked for early dining time but had to wait for the second night to get it. The ship was noisy and we had to request another state room. The quest service person was difficult to deal with and actually sent someone to the room to listen for the noise. The last night of the cruise was especially noisy with banging and clinging sounds even after our move from deck 2 to deck 8. The shore excursion at Grand Turk did not live up to expectations but the one at La Romana did.

Surprised by mmaqui622

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The itinerary was very good.  The service and the food was not.  I hardly ever saw the room Stewart.  We had to ask for toilet paper!!! What I remember been greeted in the morning by first name, he was in the air. In the dining room, we have to serve our own water. The waiter was slow and the food was pretty bad, there was not too much of a selection.    Towards the middle of the week,  I requested the other waiter, Rokp,  Who was awesome, thanks for him we got the food a little quicker. I  begun cruising in 1988 and I remember customer service, was the number one for Carnival Cruises. Things have changed dramatically ,  unfortunately not for the best ,  no more chocolate at night by your pillow, if you want to eat lobster or a good piece of steak you have to pay extra for why? I am a  platinum member that by choice, mostly cruise on Carnival, I am booked to do the same itinerary 12/31 on the Vista,  I hope is not a disappointment.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to express my opinion.

Magdalena Maquieira
