Review summary

The itinerary was very good. The service and the food was not. I hardly ever saw the room Stewart. We had to ask for toilet paper!!! What I remember been greeted in the morning by first name, he was in the air. In the dining room, we have to serve our own water. The waiter was slow and the food was pretty bad, there was not too much of a selection. Towards the middle of the week, I requested the other waiter, Rokp, Who was awesome, thanks for him we got the food a little quicker. I begun cruising in 1988 and I remember customer service, was the number one for Carnival Cruises. Things have changed dramatically , unfortunately not for the best , no more chocolate at night by your pillow, if you want to eat lobster or a good piece of steak you have to pay extra for why? I am a platinum member that by choice, mostly cruise on Carnival, I am booked to do the same itinerary 12/31 on the Vista, I hope is not a disappointment.

Here's a cruise line.com fun fact relating to my comment:

"Fun Fact: The 1985 "We've got the fun" ad promotes 3 night cruises on Carnival from $325. We did the math and it turns out the price of a cruise has actually gone DOWN in the last 31 years! $325 in 1985 comes out to about $730 today, and Carnival is currently offering 3 night cruises from as low as $199."

Well, I beg the differ ericabsb6. Not exactly sure what profiles your reading about the conquest, by the ones I have read ( which is a lot) are DEF NOT fake. It's ok tho, we leave tomorrow morning for our flight out to board the conquest and I have no doubt that it's going to be AMAZING!!

Moobee all those profiles about the Conquest are fake. I'm taking my first cruise on the Conquest in May. This will be my total of 3 cruises. Everything will be alright.

I have to wonder - "back in the day" it seemed like any cruise was priced out of the reach of the common shmoe. I think most shmoes today prefer the price structure of 2016 rather than the 1988 cruise experience - which was probably on an old converted liner with few extra amenities.

yes you can serve your own water. Carnival has started a new thing in the MDR called the American table. It consists of no table clothes and a pitcher of ice water on the table. You can serve the water your self or wait for them to do it, it's your choice.

Moobee!! We were on the Conquest last April and went to Aruba, Curaçao, GT, La Romana. BEST CRUISE YET! Clean cabin and great beds, good food and very good service. Shows were pretty good.. Comedians were great. We've already booked for next April if that tells you anything. So don't be scared off by this review. Go with the attitude that you'll have a blast and you will! Enjoy!

We leave in 2 days. Looking to getting away from it all. A bad day on a cruise would be so much better than a good day at work. Don't look too hard, hang loose and just enjoy yourselves. Ignore the naysayers. See ya shipboard. It is a great itinerary.

We did the Conquest in August. Loved everything about it. The original poster has much more experience than me. However, I am flabbergasted each time I read a review like this. It is like I live in an alternate universe. I am completely blow away by the awesome service on a Carnival cruise. I will not dismiss this review... but I cannot relate to it.

We were on the conquist for 8 night cruise and loved everything about it. Yes, a few things have changed but crusing is still the best value.you still get free lobster on cruise 6 nights and above. We have never found the drinks too be watered down.

We sail Oct 9th it seems to be a roller coaster of reviews. I can't wait to get aboard! We have been on several Carnival cruises and there will always be a little problem or two. Look past it and have fun!
