Review summary

My first cruise and I was not pleased at all. Throughout the duration of the cruise i felt hassled for money. If u won anything you had to pay. I got a gift 50 certificate for the spa for my anniversary from carnival and when i went to retrieve it. I was told manicure is $ 50 but with the voucher i received i have to do a manicure and pedicure which is $145. Won a free art from art auction ,another thing i had to pay money . The staff from auctions was very rude and racist. They had me return 3 times to the gallery before i could discuss the shipping of my free art. Forget about the nuisance of the photographers. When u did take pictures. The where so overpriced it was ridiculous and at the end of the trip they refuse to give u the rest of your pics at a discount. I believe they should give u at least 5 of your pics whether it be portrait of otherwise for $50. Drinks from the bar was water down. I has a kiss on the lips and thought i was drinking a non alcoholic punch and over price. It was considered a Caribbean Cruise with out any influence of the Caribbean. There were no Caribbean food or drinks served on board . Little to no Caribbean music and the only place this was heard was deck 9 at the buffet very low. Where u can fall asleep. Program layout was boring and lame . I could plan a better program. Activity director needs to be more creative and inventive. For God sake Caribbean people have fun and is full of life and flavor.For all the money the people spend to go on the cruise you can at least give them free alcohol drinks.i had 2 boring days at sea . Carnival could have added at least one more island to the package

I liked. Cleanliness compulsive. Oh my god cleaning was out of control. Once a day cleaning ur room or if its requested is ok, but not the on going madness they do. I loved the cleaning staff though the were the friendliest

I like but i would have a balcony room more.

Ship tip

Don't get caught up taking pictures. Watch your spending. Wait until you get back home to use ur Internet because it is over priced on board. Drink lots of alcoholic drinks before u come as the one on the ship is missing a lot.

Sorry that you didn't have a good time. Hopefully you'll give it another try...but you must do some research. A Caribbean cruise isn't a themed cruise, it just means that the ship is going to Caribbean islands. This is no different on any of the cruise lines. ALL cruise lines charge for the pictures, internet, drinks etc. As a matter of fact Carnival's on board pricing is comparable to what the others charge.

Hey lady. I am generally not a finger pointer but if you cannot spell then I guess you cannot read either. The carnival schedule is written in English so your level of understanding is in question. Are you so naïve that you believe the cruise will take you to where just you want to go and the islands can be pulled closer together? Well I guess I am wasting my time since you don't get it.

They didn't have to give you any gift certificate but you're complaining you got a50 dollar one. My wife used hers for what she wanted and didn't have to buy any extra bundle. The rest of your post is too ridiculous to bother. Carnival went to every island you paid for. If you didn't like that itinerary you should have booked a cruise that went to more places you wanted. They literally offer hundreds of cruises every month going to different places for different durations.

I had a blast on my first cruise can't wait till March for my 2nd. Sea days was great was able to relax didn't need up early to go to work.. I got up when I wanted to then went to the pool,or watched for dolphins, watching the waves looking out to the horizon and thanking my creator for allowing me to be able to see this beautiful world.. vacation is what you make it. If you can't find the fun in just relaxing then don't take a vacation

That's common knowledge and many people only take what's free and they're happy. I enjoy myself and spend additional money. On the other hand, some people bitch, whine and complain as a strategy to get what they want. Cudos to Carnival for standing their ground.

Everyone has to realize that is the cruise industry as a whole. They get you onboard with low fares and then they getting you spending once onboard. Royal Caribbean has lots more add on fees for things then Carnival does but that is the business plan of the industry.

We have done two cruises so far both on our anniversary plus the last one we renewed our wedding vows and it was great. To the point that when we got home we booked two more cruises

Do your homework better next time. Professional photographers charge the same on dry land. You don't get discounts for whining. I'm sure you were a joy to be around for both the crew and other cruisers.

Before we took our first cruise people said " your either gonna love it and continue to cruise or your gonna hate it and never cruise again" sounds to me like you won't be cruising again. As for us, we booked our second cruise for 3 weeks later. No matter what you do or where you go in life, There is not always going to be "perfect. Enjoy yourself! That's what it's all about!

Sounds like you expected everything for free or at a discount. Of course you have to pay shipping for the art and if alcohol was free for the 2K people on the boat the cruise ticket prices would be doubled. Shame on you for playing the race card. 90% of the crew are from other countries and are there just to have a decent job. Hopefully you tipped your staff. Service isn't free either.

I understand about the lido deck music. First cruise in the victory the lido was jammin day and night second cruise on fascination couldn't hear the music hardly at all on the lido. I still had a great time on both though

Sounds like no experienced cruiser advised you of what to expect and how to treat others in the same boat. Sorry you failed cruising...try sky diving....no pictures...unless it a selfee.

Before anyone else says she said it was her anniversary, yes clearly HOWEVER so you just walk in and say hey its my anniversary and they shower you with gift cards? I don't think so. The previous post said it came from the room steward. So how specifically do you communicate the event and to whom? If it's that easy then for my 8 day cruise it's my birthday, wedding ann and 6 more...

It's a cruise, not an all inclusive, 2 days at sea and was bored?? I enjoy the sea days to relax and do things on the ship, that's why I cruise.
