Okay cruise??? by clark474

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Our cruise changed itinerary twice. In the end, only one out of four of our original ports was kept. When our most prized port, the one we really bought the cruise for - Turk and Caicos - was cancelled due to hurricane damage, we were hoping to be given the opportunity to cancel. Since we didn’t have the option, we had to go on the cruise or lose our money, including airfare. While we were on the boat, another route change occurred. This time we were rerouted to Ocho Rios Jamaica and Grand Cayman, both of which we had already been to before. The route change did not make sense from a risk-avoidance standpoint. The change actually put us closer to Maria’s path instead of farther away from it! Curacao and Aruba are much further west than Ocho Rios and Grand Cayman and therefore farther away from Hurricane Maria’s path! Everyone we had talked to suspected that the change was to save money, not to avoid Hurricane Maria! Carnival took advantage of the hurricane threat to save money by sailing a much shorter route. The detour destinations were a cheaper substitute than the itinerary we purchased. We therefore feel cheated by the cruise line! Food and service on board were good, but the Music was sub-par. Every one of the bands, except for the Hispaniola Duo played for themselves rather than their customers they were supposed to entertain. Example, it was all 80’s music, very oldie, moldy, and they played the same thing over and over again. Example: We requested a romantic tune for dancing, and ten couples got up to dance. Instead of taking the cue, they went right back to the playlist they had after the requested song, making no changes to encourage the customers to dance. Very immature performers! The worst we have seen on any cruise and this is our 10th cruise!

I wish I was home sooner, but due to the weather it went longer than expected other than that it was enjoyable we did have some fun, lost money and laughed.

Very Smoky Ship by jleitch

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

The cruise ship is beautiful. The food and entertainment is great. The comedians can be hit or miss on any cruise line. The casino allows smoking and therefore the entire 5th floor smelled like one big ashtray. The smoke stays with your clothes. The cabin eventually smelled like smoke because all the clothes smelled like smoke. I am not sure why this cruise was smokier than other ships.

Less than I expected, after cruising with other cruise line by NANCYCRUISER17

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

More activities needed to engage all age groups and not just those in their 50s, 60s. The club needs updated and diverse music to entertain the different cultures that cruise with them. More food choices needed and the juices (Apple, orange) tasted really funny...not too sure they are real. Soda machines should be located in the buffet dinning room or atleast have someone walking around with them instead of only alcoholic drinks. My party and I had to keep getting up from the dinning table to walk out to the pool area in order to get soda.

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Like I said in the description Wonderful....except. Not getting the onboard credit seemed rude and unprofessional. The food was really good. All the entertainment was top of the line. The staff really made you feel important and waited on like royalty. Effy, the onboard jewelry store, is amazing!

Worst Cruise Ever by fstrunr8982496

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This cruise ship was horrible. It was very dirty. The employees were very unprofessional, rude, and not friendly. The food was not fresh and nobody wore gloves. At the pizza station they were making pizza with no gloves. The bartenders were very rude and they did not want to wait on you. The employees never looked cleaned. Uniforms were wrinkled, stained, and faded.

My Carnival Conquest experience by tasha5358

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We had a great time on Carnival Conquest. Peter the cruise director did a great job in making memories that will last a lifetime and because of him I am still saying byyee!😃 You all should look into having designated smoking areas in the casino during picture taking time. Not everyone smokes nor can everyone tolerate second hand smoking. Either a designated smoking area needs to be enforce or change the location for picture taking to prevent guest from getting sick or guest changing their minds from taking pictures all together. This is what I observed while on the ship.

Good value for the money by CiCiMe

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Good value for the money but you get what you pay for as far as quality & customer service. Excellent comedy shows but go early because seats fill up quick. Great stage show performances. Dont miss dinner. Pizza pirate is the only thing open after hours & comes with long lines & horrid customer service.

Great value for the price paid. Be careful of all the onboard charges, they add up fast. Overall great cruise line for a family. Don't waste money on exterior cabin, the interior was fine!

Great fun! by DB9

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This was a great introduction to cruising for my (college age) kids and a great reminder for my wife and I of how much fun they can be. We went on excursions at every port and enjoyed almost everything. The only downside was down time on the sea day, since we are the type who want to stay busy on a vacation.

Wonderful by xiomaralantigua

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Ecellent experience. We would prefer shorter cruises as we enjoy outdoors. Too many days at sea for us. This cruise was way too crowded for us so we would cruise different time of year.

Great trip by Pienky

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Overall good time. Won't do another cruise doe a while I like being free to walk and the boat was so limiting. I love a beach and ocean to walk. I did a Norwegian cruise in March. Too many cruises close together. I want to go back to a resort with freedom to walk.

Carnival conquest by lzimmer16

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

I'm glad I went on this cruise to see the ports of call, however, I really see no reason to return to any of them. I think I need to go to a resort type of Islam. The water was pretty, bit the beaches and inland were not as clean as I would have expected.
