Review summary

Overall it was a fantastic relaxing Cruise. The food good the lines weren't very long and the ports were wonderful. We always felt safe and happy and are already looking for our next cruise on the carnival.

Embarkation

Great start. Easy on boarding.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food was excellent. I wish the main dinning room would have the Lobster and Baked Alaska they used to have but overall the food was very good and the staff always friendly.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
We played Bingo which was a lot of fun. The trivia games were okay but making fun of ship mates is old and boring. We've been on over 7 Carnival Cruises so it gets old very quickly!. You need new material Carnival. The Love Connection or Game night was again okay but not great. One of our shipmates was so annoying... she must've thought she would win a billion dollars the way she almost killed to be on stage. Too bad she didn't know about the usual ship on a stick. Oh boy. Gotta give it up to the Cruise Director for lots and lots of patience.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Entertainment wasn't the best in the theater. The first show was sinfully boring which I was surprised at. In fact all the main shows were boring. Thankfully there is always more to choose from. We enjoyed the music in the atrium lounge especially the salsa and disco night. So much fun! We also thought the Cruise Director Peter was amazing. he was always funny and entertaining.

Children's Programs

4 out of 5
My daughter was enrolled in the teen club. I honestly did not think she would go. She loved it. Stayed with the teens every evening allowing us to go to the shows or gamble. We all had a great time.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Other than the Room Steward, all other ship personnel was terrific. They work hard and were always very eager to help and be kind to you. I especially liked Woody who worked at the restaurant and cafe. Always going above and beyond to give us the bet service.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The layout was great. Finding things to do and places to eat was very easy. Elevators were great. The ship needs a make over. Sofas, chairs, tables were all worn. We went to the game room and though we had plenty of board games to chose from the chairs and tables were uncomfortable.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
You would think getting a Balcony Stateroom would afford you a little luxury. not on the Conquest. My cabin was so dated and always felt dirty. Gone are the robes and toiletries of the past. You are given worn out towels, shampoo, liquid soap. That's it. Our sink was clogged the entire time and our room phone was not working. We requested that both be fixed. Neither one ever was.

Ship tip

Don't expect glitz and glam on this ship but expect a good time! Lovely ports and very nice staff.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

5 out of 5
Ft. Lauderdale was a wonderful city. We had a great time there. We rented a car and drove to the Miami Zoo as it was only 30 minutes away. Very nice easy ride.

Grand Turk Island

5 out of 5
Absolutely wonderful time at Turk Island. We snorkeled with Capital Mike who was so kind to us. My daughter had never snorkeled before and was so frightened. They eased her discomfort by staying with her and guiding us. By the time we stopped at the second snorkel location she was off on her own. Floating happily. It was a wonderful experience and I think Captain Mike and his team for making it so great.

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

5 out of 5
Loved it here. The lunch was excellent the crowds were a bit ridiculous. Seriously folks it's just food. A bit annoying but we still enjoyed Half Moon Cay very much. We booked a bike excursion with Carnival. Even though it was very hot we did like the bike tour. It's a mini tour of the island. The guides were very kind. We also stopped and looked at the stingrays & starfish which was nice.

Nassau, Bahamas

I wish I would have booked Atlantis but this time I didn't. We decided to go to Breezes resort for a Resort for the Day. It was such a disappointment. I would not recommend it. All they had was a beach and a pool. Food was just ok drinks were provided unlimited but given to you in 6 oz plastic cups. I would order the drink and by the time I got to my lounge chair it was gone. Not worth the money we paid. Atlantis is wonderful but priced way too high for a few hours.

Disembarkation

Debarkation was a nightmare. Stay on the ship as long as possible to avoid ridiculously long lines. Announcements to get off started at 5:45 a.m.! Over the loud speaker however we didn't get off until 9:30 due to all the crowds. Makes no sense.
