Review summary

The cruise ship is beautiful. The food and entertainment is great. The comedians can be hit or miss on any cruise line. The casino allows smoking and therefore the entire 5th floor smelled like one big ashtray. The smoke stays with your clothes. The cabin eventually smelled like smoke because all the clothes smelled like smoke. I am not sure why this cruise was smokier than other ships.

Embarkation

The entire check in process took about 2.5 hours.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The children's food was delivered barely warm at each of the dinners. The kids were ok with it, I personally didn't care for the food temperature.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
The pools are small and extremely crowded. The passengers are standing shoulder to shoulder in the pools. There is no room to wade in the water.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
One of the comedians was a bust, the other comedian was funny. The stage shows were great. The music was too loud in the main pool area.

Children's Programs

Kids did not participate.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The Staff is fantastic. They remember your name, they remember your preferences.

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
The 5th floor was excessively horrible for the smoke smell. 5th floor is where the casino is located and also where you take the portraits every night. There are several bars and entertainment areas on the 5th floor, so a lot of time is spent on the 5th level. When I returned to my cabin at the end of the night, I hung my dress up in the same closet as my unworn clothes. I didn't realize how much smoke my clothes absorbed until the next day. My entire closet and the clothes in the closet now smelled like smoke.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
We had three adults in the cabin. Cabin size was adequate. View was excellent.

Ship tip

Advice for any cruise really, bring a box of dryer sheets. Keep these in the closet with your clothes. I am sure the closet in my cabin still smells. I feel sorry for the next passengers in that room.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

Beautiful beach. If you want a bit of privacy, walk past the lifeguards and you will have a whole beach to yourself.

Nassau, Bahamas

We did the snorkeling excursion. That was excellent. We saw beautiful fish, a huge crab, a stingray and other aquatic life. However, the Bahama island, some of the locals are rude and persistent about getting you a cab or directing you to their restaurant. We walked a bit past all the beaches for some local food. The locals were very pushy about getting us to eat in their restaurant.

Disembarkation

Long lines.
