Best cruise ever! by cheryllomax

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This ship is totally awesome! Staff was friendly and courteous. The food was absolutely, positively delicious!!!! Our stateroom was both roomy and comfortable with lots of storage and closet space. My only complaint would be that we did not port long enough in San Juan and the Port at Grand Turk was far too crowded with two Carnival ships there at the same time.

80 percent of people we talked to disliked this cruise because you stopped caring about the customer. by joanepooh3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

you could tell by your employees how bad you are running your Co. Not One had a smile on their face unless it was forced. You did not even offer something to drink before dinner! 12 and 14 year old children drunk every night wandering the ship 2:00 A.M. . 4700 people on the ship and 6 washers and 12 dryers .Really!  That is why I saw the children 2:00 A.M. because that was the only time I could do my wash. While I was doing our wash there was one family that said they have sailed with you for 20 years and they are a huge group... They said it was the last sailing with you. Another Couple said they were on their honeymoon and wish they could get off the ship . That they would never sail with you again. You cut back on everything . I brought friends and family to have a great time we got up early on the last day just to be the first off your ship. NEVER AGAIN !!! I have seen this with so many Co. When you make the customer last it won't be long when people when they leave you. So enjoy your bottom line. Good bye. The Taylor/ McNelly familys

Carnival Breeze Cruise by jmikei726

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship is beautiful and all of the crew members were very friendly and helpful. Our waiters in the dining room (Blush), Dennis and I believe it was Wayan, were fantastic. There was plenty to do on board however, a few too many photographers that wouldn't let you walk by without stopping you. The only other complaint I would give is that the debarkation process was very long and uncomfortable.  We had to wait for three hours in a theatre while cartoons played and there was nothing to eat or drink.  Some complimentary snacks would have been nice.  It seems if you are late in the debarkation process, you could wait in your room while the early passengers get off the ship and their rooms are cleaned.  All in all, it was a very enjoyable cruise and compared to other vacations, was the best value one could find.

Needs to review the chiefs on board. by blhinson

Very nice ship. The décor was very nice. The food was not up to what it should have been for what we paid for this trip.. The captain & crew done a great job. The islands were good. I will never go to the La Romana, Dominican Republic again. That is a waste of time for anybody. To dangerous.

Great Experience by dereksky

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Carnival Breeze is a beautiful ship. There was plenty to do and many dining options especially during sea days. My kids were well taken care of and entertained by the staff at Camp Carnival. They were all pleasant and know how to work with young kids. The ship staff were very friendly especially our steward. The cruise director, Matt, was cool and funny. He made the experience of the ship very pleasant. Most of the shows were good especially the Latin Night and the Groove night, full of energy. I did not really care of the show, the Brits. The music was good, but the I was not really getting the choreography. I liked the aqua blue theme and the beach theme spread out throughout the ship. The itinerary went to Aruba, Curacao, La Romana,DR and Grand Turk. The first 3 islands were fantastic. Curacao and Aruba were beautiful, full of color and some fascinating natural wonders. The beaches and the water were awesome. La Romana was good. The public beach in Bayahibe was nice, but a 30 minute ride. The taxis were not cheap but the people were pleasant. Grand Turk was OK,  but very crowded. There were 2 ships in port. Beach was next to the port but quite a bit of seaweed. Margaritaville was very packed but nice. The shops were good. I won a Ultimate snorkeling tour for Grand Turk. It was a great experience, for I never snorkeled before. Overall, the cruise was awesome and would recommend the Breeze to anyone.

Eight days of enjoyment out on the sea. by jamesdjackson

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The ship was beautiful, the staff was friendly, the entertainment was good(Mat) was good. The excursions was good, however one excursion wasn't exactly what i requested. I requested the tour where you drove the jeep wrangler, then placed me with a tour and they drove.. My only bad comment would be the food , i was very disappointed in the food. The Hamburger and pizza was my saving grace. Overrall, it was a great cruise..

Awesome Ship! by jodythorson

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship was big and beautiful.  Guy's Burgers and the Mexican Cantina were better than Five Guys Burgers and Chipolte Mexican!  The fitness center had the best equipment.  The comedians were very funny and had good family friendly shows as well.  The main dining rooms were good, however the desserts at the buffet could be somewhat better.

Excellent!  I loved Carnival Breeze.  This was my 14th cruise on Carnival.  Service was good, cabin was great, and the entertainment was wonderful.  I took my 17 year old daughter and her 16 year old friend.  They had an awesome time with the other kids their age.

BEAUTIFUL SHIP by NYCruiser02

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

I THOUGHT THE BREEZE WAS A BEAUTIFUL SHIP.  COMPARED TO MY LAST TWO CARNIVAL CRUISES, THEY HAVE MADE SOME MAJOR IMPROVEMENTS IN STAFF AND THE FOOD WAS DECENT. I HAD NO INTENTIONS OF CRUISING WITH CARNIVAL  ANYTIME SOON, BUT THIS SHIP MADE ME WANT TO CONSIDER AT LEAST THEIR NEWER SHIPS FOR FUTURE TRAVEL.

Family Vacation by sidglo

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The Breeze was a nice size ship that offered both kids and adults things to do. The water park with its two slides was loads of fun for the kids and the obstacle course with two choices of hardness was fun as well.  The crew as usual was very polite and new everyone's first names to make it more friendly and that seems to always work well. The anytime dinning was perfect for all of us.  It allowed us to do island activities at our time frames and none of us had to miss any of the very good meals that they always serve on the ship.

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)

Really like the size of the ship and the amount of things to do.  Was great for the kids.  Food was good...premium restaurant (steakhouse) was excellent.  Heard many say the Italian restaurant was great too!  Good ports of call.

The Breeze is a Breeze! by Naye

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The embarkment process went smoothly. The food was great, especially Guys burgers! Plenty to do, for entertainment! I would request more show times for the comedy shows so that guests won't have to stand during the shows that were at a high demand. Matt the Cruise Director was OUTSTANDING! And really made the cruise sooo much fun! The staff was IMPECCABLE!!! Rooms were cleaned everytime I left the cabin and a surprise

towel animal was awaiting my return:)

The dining staff was AMAZING! It was truly a five star restaurant! The port experience was

great ( a lil shaky at the Dominican Republic). At times I felt staff was told to sell me everything possible ( espec

pictures) and that got somewhat annoying when I wanted to relax. The debarkment process was flawless! I can't wait to go back:)

Great value by jcdolphin

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I was lucky to book a week where there was a special price offered for solo travellers: no single supplement fee! The ports were places I had already been to but nonetheless enjoyable. The beach at Grand Turk was a bit crowded but at least clean and weather was good. The service on the ship was very attentive. The shows, only so-so...somewhat campy and corny. My biggest let down was that the adults-only Serenity section on the ship has no pool. Other pools were always super crowded with bratty kids who cannot follow rules such as not jumping in and splashing incessantly.

Frequent Cruiser - Worst Cruise Ever by bobby21bonner

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This Ship's itenirary was all about the Cruise Ship making money not customer service.

The best part of the whole cruise was the service by the cabin attendant which was excellent.

Waiters would not bring you water even if you bought a drink!

Staff was quick to appologize but nothing was done.

Food Service in the main dining was hit and miss, good three days bad 4 days.

TV on ship was terrible, no set times for programing and movies.

The only ship I ever sailed on that lunch started at 12 noon not 11am, and much of the staff was rude.

Breeze Review by medicocti

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The Breeze was OK but I liked the Exstacy better. The A/C was weak in the cabin and uncomfortable in some areas. It lacks lounge sitting areas to sit, read and relax like other boats have. The food was good. The 555 Steakhouse was truly outstanding with excellent service and fine food. Well worth it. The crew and staff were very polite. The sting ray swim in Grand Cayman was awsome. Good value overall.

Review by bvk

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Dislikes:

Carnival would not grant a price reduction or on-board credit when comparable category balcony cabins went on sale within 2 weeks of sail date for ½ of what I had paid. When I booked I was told that price reductions would be authorized for comparable category cabins. I guess someone lied to me. (No longer have an incentive to book ahead, or with Carnival.)

This is the first time receipts were not consistently given when using the sign & sail card. This made it very difficult to reconcile purchases against the TV or folio print-out. I’m still not sure if all the charges were legitimate, or if additional tips were added after I signed the slip.

I don’t ever recall seeing so many unsupervised kids and teens on a cruise. They were generally loud, disrespectful, and travelled in mobs. This is primarily a parenting issue but Carnival seems to tolerate this much more than other cruise lines.

Dining rooms were understaffed, especially at the early dinner seating.

The port call to the Dominican Republic was a complete waste. It was a genuine 3rd world slum, no matter what fancy Latin name you give it.

The slot machines were programmed to be VERY, VERY stingy.

Likes:

The ship was well laid out and comfortable.
